Francophile, hope you have a nice time!

Thanks SDW. Droopsnout has informed me the weather may not be as bad as I'd originally thought. He's using a different website so hopefully he's right.
Hope you have a great trip as well.

That packing tip is a good one, and is how I always used to pack the boys' clothes for them. Pair of trousers on the bed, t-shirt and sweatshirt on top, add pants and socks, then roll. It helped that DS1 liked to be colour coordinated, so we had red days, green days, blue days, black days ...

I shall have to try it for myself next time, of course it's harder for me because I never quite know what I shall want to wear each day.

I have nearly finished my holiday packing list, which I will laminate and have ordered more mesh cubes as the ones we took were fab. They close with a zip and made life so much easier. Another vital thing was the in beaker immersion heater and the few lightweight picnic tools that we took. Wasted space was given to laundry items so no iron next time and I also took too many shoes, when in reality I needed only 2 comfy pairs

Great being high on the coach, luxury with climate control, leather seats and lots of legroom. I didn`t appreciate the distance and time spent sitting so have ordered some compression socks for next time as me and several other ladies got swollen legs. Next time I will plot the distances so I get some better idea. I have also found another excellent coaching company in the vicinity, which will do home pick ups so its nice to have a choice of two

Next hol in a few months and already booked, Poland here we come with a luxury company, including home pick up. Now to work out how much currency I will need!!!

I did 3 washes and the machine died on the 4th wash. The machine is exactly 5 years and 2 months old and a neighbours has died as well. Looking it up on google, many many people have a problem with the same hotpoint washer drier and don`t recommend the repair roundabout. It starts to boil washing so my few things at 30 may have shrunk, I`ll see when I try them on again. I am grateful that it was only a small load of cheap items. Anyway I am using more skiing cash to buy another machine, john lewis this time and the plumber is coming today to see what`s what, re extracting this machine from the waste disposal. I am going to ask him to get rid of the disposal unit as we don`t use it, it was just a silly thing in a brand new house. Now I have to wait 10 days for delivery, oh well. Drip dry here I come

Oh another thing re packing: I am going colour co-ordinated ie all blue, turquoise, white etc. No browns etc so better mix and match

    so that is
    blue
    white
    turquoise
    cream
    light greens

help!! any more as I am hopeless at co-ordination

I would suggest adding one black basic outfit for when you get bored with all the blue.;) A couple of extra white/cream tops will also help.Different coloured scarves to go with the black and white/cream will provide a diffent feeling without taking up much space.

You may also find it worthwhile spending some SKIing cash getting your colours done through Colour me Beautiful or similar. I've not had it done 'properly' but years ago I did a freebie group session which confirmed that I can wear PINK, even though I'm not really the right season for it.

I saw a demo at a church event last week but found it hard to 'see' what the demonstrator was claiming, eg which shade of white suited our models. But I could usually see that something 'worked' on each model.

Apparently we can't all wear black. But finding which darker colour looks good on you would fit with [STRIKE]Errata's[/STRIKE](Whoops! must not skim read ...) EdInvestor's general advice.

Are you confusing me with another poster? :D

One's basic colour doesn't have to be black , just 'neutral' .Grey is often a useful one, less harsh than black.White or cream can do the job if the weather's good enough. In Kittie's case, IMHO she's right to exclude brown, because it won't easily fit in with her other colour choices.
