Hi everybody - I too am back in the land of the living. Scotland was 3 days of wet and 3 of sun. The Loch Fyne Oyster Festival was a total quagmire and I felt sorry for all the people and their work. Still the seafood was great as was the Stagecoach Inn at Cairndow. Soooo peaceful. I actually had Lock Fyne grilled kippers for breakfast on each of the 3 days - unforgettable. No sooner had I got back than I had two sets of visitors which was lovely - love catching up. One was my god daughter from Yorkshire and her husband which was special as they don't make it down very often. She is head honcho at the Thomas Cook Shop in Middlesbrough and gets sooo many cheapo trips. She left me to join a cruise at Dover bound for the baltic capitals.
All the rain and sun of the last few weeks has turned my garden into a jungle and have had to do some radicle chopping back. Got to be careful as I have a handful of blackbirds zooming back and forth with mouthfulls of grub for their young into the hedges and fences around the garden.
Donnygal - in case you missed the weather forecast the sun is returning tomorrow with a vengence in the South - hope you get some. I too am planning my next trip - my family in Holland want to see me again - last saw them at New Year.member # 12 of Skaters Club

Hi everybody - looks like I killed the conversation again - was it the Scottish kippers? I think everybody is in the garden like me - make the most of it I guess.
Where are you Donny-Gal? If you are still in the 'van you are lucky with the weather. Hope it lasts.member # 12 of Skaters Club

It's gone here. We had a friend from Australia staying Tuesday to Thursday, and it was GLORIOUS! I've said she can come again, but she took the fine weather with her when she went ... What's it like in Plymouth, anyone know? That's where she went ...Signature removed for peace of mind0

Don't know what it's like in Plymouth, but it has poured with rain all day here in the West Midlands.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Rained overnight, but dry, grey + cold wind at Beverley today, in the 'van. DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Last week's temperature 27 degree - yesterday's - 7!
No wonder we need big wardrobes, we have to keep 4 season's worth of clothes out!
Bet you are cosy in the van, DG. We're off to Crete on Tuesday, so we'll be hot!

Right I'm off on my ski-ing again today. The Euro did strengthen, but has slipped a little back, though still better than it's been.
Meeting MW for lunch on Monday, and I am sure she will report back for us both.
Should get back to the UK home in about a month's time, weather seems to be changing in our favour for the UK and Normandy, keep your fingers crossed.

Still here in sunny Wolverhampton. I'm enjoying being able to walk to everywhere I want to go and to being able to buy anything I want without the shop assistant looking as though I've asked for a Cruise Missile.
My home in Spain is lovely, the scenery is stunning and the people are great, but it is VERY rural - you can't live on a view and there is nothing for me to DO there.
I even walk more in Wolverhampton as it is flat and in Spain any walk involves climbing a mountain and it is usually too hot anyway.
My husband says I've got my sparkle back here in the UK. (Didn't realise I'd lost it).
So half-and-half living from next year I think! I certainly wouldn't want to give Spain up completely, but definitely need a huge slice of UK city life too.(AKA HRH_MUngo)
