We've just had a new kitchen (never had a properly fitted kitchen before, with drawers and cupboards!- soft closing too!
). It looks great and works properly. Then the kitchen roof started leaking all over my new worktop! Tarpaulin over it until it can be mended properly.
These Victorian houses certainly know how to swallow money.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
Well......we have just done some serious ski-ing......bought a new little car! A Smart fortwo Passion. Bright red!
Got it on Monday, so have only driven it about 20 miles.
We have a big 4x4 for towing our caravan, but it is expensive to run for shopping trips etc, so we decided to get a little car.
Just got it on time, as on the way to pick it up, the big car broke down! Going to be an expensive repair by the sounds of things as it involves the electronic control systems........and other things.
Oh dear.......0 -

Some friends of ours have a large car for towing the caravan and a Smart for everyday, same as yourself.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Back home this morning, having left Vietnam 40 hours earlier.
Our plans were amended owing to typhoon Nari, but we had a fantastic time. What lovely people they are.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.

Just got a reminder from easyJet that it's 48 hours until we go. Flying to Alicante from our local airport half a mile away. DH isn't keen on flying, he hates airports, delays, long queues etc but we've had good reports of our local one since it really got going with easyJet, as recently as last year after Stobart took it on, added a new passenger terminal, new rail station, new Holiday Inn hotel. Before that it was just dying on its feet. The last time we flew anywhere was 10 years ago to the USA/Canada.
I've had a lot of info about Alicante and we're looking forward to it. EasyJet have sent a list of restaurants and we look forward to trying local food and specialities. I have my BBC 'Get by in Spanish' and I can say 'please' and 'thank you' in Spanish!
Just been finishing off transcribing a 1748 will for the family history society wills project. Just one more of the little jobs I wanted to get done before we go. Tomorrow we're at church and we're both doing the readings.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.
