It might be okay, she did seem more relaxed than with first when we visited in June.

I don't have any kids, so I must be a SK-ater, but I'm shortly going to do some major skating.
On 7th Sept we embark on a 24 night cruise to the Black Sea.
I've got everything I need, and at the weekend we'll start the packing. I want to be fully packed by next Wednesday, as I'll be at work on the Thursday and Friday before we go, then on the Saturday we'll be off.
I'm very excited about this cruise. We love our cruises and this'll be the longest one we've ever done.Early retired - 18th December 2014

Just about to embark on the biggest SKIing trip of our lives. Tomorrow we fly to Calgary, Canada. From there we will be taking an Ice Explorer trip over some glaciers. Then the next leg is two days on the Rocky Mountaineer train through the Rockies.
After a couple of days in Vancouver we are taking a 7 day cruise to Alaska. We will then have a couple of days on Vancouver Island before flying home. The trip is 18 days in total. I don't expect to have any change out of £10k, but hey my OH and I deserve it!
Looking forward to seeing all the wildlife in their natural surroundings, so we have 2 cameras and an iPad to take plenty of photos.
When we come home I will have one more week of work before retiring! :beer:0 -

Well came home from Canada with a very positive feeling towards our very friendly and helpful Canadians.
Banff is a beautiful town and a massive thanks is due to two strangers from Edmonton who picked up our $60 bar tab unknown to us, following an hour chat about their holiday to N.I. last year.
Our trip 15,000 feet up the Athabasca glacier and then walking on it was one of the highlights of the holiday.
The two day trip on the Rocky Mountaineer gave us lots of fantastic photo opportunities.
Vancouver's Stanley Park (5 times size of Hyde Park) is a must see.
The cruise to Alaska gave us an insight to how the settlers/gold rush people lived and worked! The last day was a trip to Glacier Bay, which made fascinating viewing.Should be classed as one of the wonders of the world, just a pity it is melting at an alarming rate.
Our last stop was at Victoria, Vancouver Island, where lots of well heeled Brits have retired to. There are some areas where £1m might just buy you a medium size house.
Definitely a holiday of a lifetime. :j0 -
Last week I went to Cambridge for two days with my Scrabble friend. We saw the Mousetrap, had a meal and stayed in a hotel. Really enjoyed it.
The Mousetrap murderer said we were now partners in crime and told us we were not to tell anyone, so I won't

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
We saw The Mousetrap on our honeymoon , fours days in London, 46 years ago! Stayed in a most unromantic B&B.
We had 10 shillings between us when we came home to our rented flat.
Baby boomers who have it all, you see!

I got back from my cruise on Tuesday.......I"m not sure how 24 nights went so quickly.
Since then I've been busy with all the washing and ironing, but it was a fantastic trip.
The countries we visited were Portugal, Malta, Turkey, Ukraine, Greece and Spain.
Brilliant experience, fantastic weather and just very relaxing.Early retired - 18th December 2014

We are off for our Vietnam tour on Tuesday. This the most we've ever spent on a holiday.
Hope it's worth it. I am getting exciting, even if OH is still blas! about it.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

I hope you have a great time. A friend of mine did three weeks in Vietnam but organised their own flight/hotel/trips and although they've been a dedicated travellor for years and aren't easily impressed they said it was a fabulous experience. Although in fairness, they do tend to go off piste and do the back of beyond stuff.pollypenny wrote: »We are off for our Vietnam tour on Tuesday. This the most we've ever spent on a holiday.
