i too have been with Orange since they were Freeserve/Wanadoo etc. I have been paying £17.99 for 2mb connection on their max package. I rang them the other week and was offered upgrade to 8mb, free phone (which arrived a few days later) and 6 months free then £17.99 per month and still on their max package (so i can get Lost and all my other programs i d/load!!)

    Happy days!

I'm also an Orange broadband customer from the Freeserve/Wanadoo days currently paying £19.99 a month and have been talking to Orange today, they were trying to sell me their Home Max package - home phone and broadband for £24.99 a month. I said that was too expensive and I already had an offer of home phone and broadband for £18 from Talk Talk, their best offer was Broadband Max (same deal/speed etc as I have now) with no home phone for £17.99, not a great saving.

Maybe I will try calling them again and see if they will offer me some of the deals already mentioned, it does seem to depend on who you talk to.

I have also been with them since the Freeserve days so thought I would call and try my luck. Best offer I got was £12.99 per month, first 3 months free and a free wireless box thing (which I don't understand what they mean) - tied in for 12 months. As this averages out at about £9.75 per month, I took it. A lot better deal than the £14.99 I am currently paying and it saves the hassle of changing provider. Would have liked the free 6 months though that some people got, but never mind.

I get cross that they never contact you and say that they could save you money with new packages etc - I suppose they are quite happy for long standing customers to continue paying inflated monthly charges.

Just shows that it pays to contact them on a yearly basis and have a haggle:T

I hate the piggin' Livebox, and would willingly give the rotten thing back, return to AOL and forget I ever thought I could find a better deal and still have a running network.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

Well done, that's really good. Wish I had told them to keep the Livebox which I will not use and knock a couple of extra pounds off the monthly charge. Never mind, will try a bit harder next year!

  • I called orange to cancel my broadband the other day (horrified to realise that I have been paying £17.99 for the last 5 months) as I had just drifted along with the same ISP for the last 4 years. When I called to cancel the girl offered me 3 months free, I said no and immediately was offered 6 months free and the fee will reduce to £11.99 when I start paying again. Success! :j

Thanks for this, after reading it i finally managed to persuade my OH to phone they offered 3 months free and 9 months for £12.99, they wouldn't budge on that but they are sending us a free wireless router so he's happy. All i need to do now is find out what a wireless router is and what it actually does.
:pwould like to make it known it is not a DHN, she's dancing :p

I can't understand why you will not use the Livebox (wireless router) as it would give a better and more secure connection than your modem.

Hmmm. Wish I'd read this before I called them today. I've been paying £17.99 for years, not they've offered their £24.99 Home Max package with Livebox for same as I'm paying now - £17.99. I snapped it up but should I have held out for some free months? Wonder if they have a get out clause?
