Natwest - I got an account

Have your wages paid into the account and do not go into any unauthorised overdraft or get any charges on the account for 3-6 months, then you may be able to upgrade.
You can still use the Solo card to pay for things in shops, it's just there are a FEW places which don't accept it.Kavanne

Do Natwest use internal scoring, or credit reference agencies to decide when to upgrade debit cards, lend money or give credit cards? If I were to take this option, and decide to pay enough money into this account to pay my monthly bills, and not go overdrawn, would I be looked on favourably? How much should I leave in my account at the end of the month to score better?1st letters received on 16.02.07 for HSBC, Goldfish, Tesco, RBoS & Lloyds TSB0

I applied for the NatWest Advantage Gold Acc and received a message on screen stating that they would be in touch. About a week later I got a form to sign so I did this and sent it back. Today I received a letter about registering for actionline services following having recently opened an account. Does that mean that I have been accepted? If so, my credit rating is exceptionally poor and I did not think that I would get a look in. If it has been I'll probably only get a solo card but I can't complain.0

We have what we call a PAL screen, this shows us what you have with natwest and what you can have. It updates on a monthly basis depending on the conduct of your account. You also get a risk band between 1 and 10. 1-4 we class as very good, 5-8 good, and 9 & 10 = no chance!!
I think the only way to make it good is to get paid in there every month/week, no charges and leave a credit balance constantly so it doesnt think you spend all your money. Thats about it really.I work in a NatWest branch, any information I provide should be taken as general. See you local branch for advice, but any questions feel free to ask me.0 -

Best off contacting them tbh on 0845 604 2 604. Sounds like its been approved and more than likely get a solo card for the time been. Just dont cause any problems and make sure you pay your £12.95 at the end of every month!I work in a NatWest branch, any information I provide should be taken as general. Thanks Jonno!
So, if I were to pay myself enough each month into this account, to pay all of my direct debits, maybe use the debit card once or twice a month, then I should expect to get upgraded?1st letters received on 16.02.07 for HSBC, Goldfish, Tesco, RBoS & Lloyds TSB0 -

Well I got a cheque book and a solo card so you were right. I'm currently with A&L I have a visa debit card already. The only problem is that there are not too many A&L branches around and so to pay money in means finding a post office which can be a headache at times, never mind the queues.
Will use this account as a slave and pay them the £12+ each month and see what happens down the line.0
