Im trying to find the best bread mix. Im not into making bread with yeast so cant use the fastbake setting on my machine. Im using white bread programe medium crust on a kenwood machine. Its a old machine that was at the back of my cubbard and I havent used in ages. Shame really. I can find loads of info online about machines but not about bread mix so would love to know which is the best brand. So far Ive tried asda, it rose well but was not very white, went stale quick and was quite yellow and heavy. Thanks in advance for any help. Jane x0

Hi just a update. Ive just fished the bread mix packet I used out of the bin yuk. It was morrisons best not asda. I also am now wondering if the bread is best not on a timer as I did set timer but really the water would go cold making it this way. Jane0

Here goes... I have a Morphy Richards Breadman Pro (at least 5 years old) Used it loads. I have moved 3 times in the last 5 years and cannot find the instruction manual anywhere. The machine has 13 cycles, all numbered, so no clues there!kaz2004
Have you tried searching for online manuals I know a friend of mine did this and found instructions for one

I haven't been eating bread for quite a while (I can't stop once I start) but really looking forward to making different kinds, flavours and nice fresh breads plus pizza dough's etc!!!! How exciting (but I know it'll cost me a fortune

Actually I found that my BM saved me money because I no longer popped in to shops for "just a loaf" and staggered out with two carrier bags full of impulse buys. But perhaps that's just me.:rolleyes:0 -

I think that's what most of us do.0 -
Hi all,
I am goin to buy a panasonic but want to make things like sun dried tomato bread etc.
I know the SD255 has the time release and the SD254 does not. I was going to pay out for the 255 at Amazon, but have now seen the 254 for much cheaper.
Does anyone know if I can still make the more fancy types of bread with the 254 given that it does not have that timed function?
Thanks in advance.Act your shoe size, not your age.;)0 -
I have the 255 and have not had any success with getting the dispenser to work. So I gave up and jsut put the extra ingredients in at the beginning. I haven't tried raisins but do make seeded bread and it is fine.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

I have the 255 and the drop drawer works fine. After using currents you do need to wash it as it can make it sticky, I add a little flower to my dried fruit now.
If you can be around at the time the 254 needs the extras adding then they can be as good as anything, if however, your mind is like a sieve like mine then the 255 is ideal.
