Hi Bails, hope you are feeling better today
By the sounds of it, your washing maching filter is blocked. I'd clean any filters you can access and then flush it through with a cold rinse, empty. Last one I unblocked had a 5p stuck in it.
It's a lovely day here as well. I don't know what these people at the Met Office are going on about recently, all this good weather when it's forecast for snow and storms. Unfortunately, I didn't stick a washing on last night, so there's nothing ready to hang out! I have stacks of post to do today and then hope to catch up with some accounts. I'm also going to try out an ice cream recipe I found. (Got to have a celebration for tomorrow because Day 100 cannot pass unrecognised.) I want to see if homemade vanilla ice ceam tastes like mint choc chip if I mix in real grated chocolate and chopped mint from window sill herb garden. I also have a sponge flan case to use up, thought it might be nice with tinned peaches and jelly. Makes it sound like a party! :T
Back soon, must catch post office before 12.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Thanks Nyk, will try that.
Next question - sorry peeps, on a mission today! - has anyone used the energy company Spark? They aim to undercut the biggies and are the top 3 in my comparison, any views? The next best are Npower. Think I would need to be tied into both for 12 months to make the savings, not sure about that...
In a foul mood as I just found out we've been on BG's standard rate all this time :mad: I want the money to be shared responsibility but it's no good if OH isn't prepared to do things properly :mad::mad: Just very very occasionally, when it comes to money, I wish I was single...The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Oh, I do so know what you mean. However, with proper tender loving care we will seek to frugalise them.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
:rotfl: :rotfl: Sorry, I really shouldn't laugh at that but it so reminded me of a friend who left their dog tied up outside the shop and went home without it!!
My next door neighbour is in the process of moving out and has left their old hen run dismantled in a heap in the middle of the back lawn. I wonder if he'd donate it to me to recycle into a portable GP run? Must ask him as soon as I see him!
When I had my DD2, I left her in her pram when I dropped my DD1 off at nursery!
The head went outside to see why the children hadn't come into class, and found them hanging onto my big Silver Cross pram, admiring my new born!:o
Even though my DD2 is now 23, she has never forgiven me....as if she could remember!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:Living a frugal retirement without treading on the planet :T

I am glad it's not just meI am very grateful really, most blokes his age would be p***ing it up against a wall so he's does very well. I guess being on your own just means you have complete control over it (and I realise, subsequently have to do everything yourself).
To be honest, I feel like taking a break from everything for a while. This could of course be TOTM talking but I'm feeling overwhelmed by all the things I ought to be doing and my health is suffering. It was always my priority to get well as soon as possible (for many varied and obvious reasons). I'm thinking of just 'putting things on hold' for a few weeks - still being careful with money etc but not trying to add any more to my plate. Hmm, will think on it...

hey everyone,
had a DD for my contact lenses come out today, so I've updated my signiture. Am off into town in a bit (hopefully it'll stop raining so I can go and not get too wet!) to get some Euros and some last minute bits and bobs for France tomorrow!

Just £2.06 today! Did a mystery shop which came to £13.06 (at a supermarket) but I get £11 fee back so I'm going to just add the 'excess' to my total.
I like doing supermaket mystery shops - I see them as 'free' food."Stay Wonky":D

Bails - have a 100 day celebration tomorrow and you'll feel much better. Use Billy Can in reverse - se what you can spare and FORCE yourself to spend it on something nice, even if it is just a huge bar of chocolate reduced to 79p in spring meadows. (:o OOPS!
)
Slowlyfading - Have a FAB time in France. I just looked at a junk mail and it was for holidaying in France and nit had a piccie of a horse drawn wagon! VERY tempting for £39.50 return and just as well my passport has still never been renewed :rotfl:
FunBrum - Umm... yes, I can relate to that as I almost left pram outside the local shop first week home with DD1. Fortunately, I was a few yards along the road before I realised my mistake. I should really join the bad mothers club but feel a bit old with my youngest turning 19 in a few weeks.I reserve the right not to spend.

Hi Keren, which mystery shopping do you use? I've done one but it never had supermarkets on it, only ever got a few chances actually. Thanks. The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000
