Thanks Janey, your errant hubby cheered me up! What is it with men and money? And they reckon women are the shopaholics! :D
Just eating my way through my last pack of bacon and to be honest, I'm not really enjoying it. Did anyone see Louis Theroux goes Hunting the other night?

    Hi all,
Just dropping in again to thank you all for your inspirational posts :T. Following your lead I've trimmed last months spend dramatically so I even managed to cover the two new tyres for the car (336€!!). House renovation and farm budgets are still guesswork but the number (and cost) of those little extras is diminishing. :j

My treat for being a good MSE'er has been buying a few bottles of wine to lay down for a few years. I was able to fund it this month with my 2€ collection. Not a lot of bottles or really expensive wine but much, much more than I would usually spend ( £12 - £20) a bottle but I wanted something nice put away to celebrate my children's graduations etc when they come along - I usually drink the local wine, or the 1.99€ Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon from Lidl :rotfl:. If I hadn't been salting away the 2€'s I wouldn't have been able to afford to buy.
So well done to all and thanks again for you inspiration

I just went to do my regular pigsback check and noticed that you now need 1150 points for a £10 voucher! 15% increase is massive for me to ever make because I've been trying for months to get to 1000. I've only JUST made it to 900 and found out I'm STILL 250 points off getting anything decent. I wish I'd never bought the 2 stress piggies now! Mind you, it was funny when that one got stuck in the letter box, so I shouldn't really grumble. :D

What is the difference between the arcadia vouchers and for example the Dorothy perkin or burton vouchers. Don't they all belong to the same group and can be used at all the other stores too? It seems to say this in the rewards bit on PB anyway. So why are some now 1150 (arcadia) and the others 1000 per £10 voucher?

Oh NO! I've been sitting on 5,000 and something points for ages, saving for Halford's vouchers to buy a bike next year, so my points have now lost about £7 of their worth  I was putting off redeeming them so that I wouldn't spend them!

This is what I think about all these sites that offer points and cashback.

They are all working with the same handful of affiliate marketing companies. They pay us a percentage of what the affiliate company pays them and, in turn, the affiliate company pays them a percentage of what the individual companies are paying for advertising in the first place. Originally, it was a fantastic idea as it meant companies only paid for people who actually read their adverts and, hopefully, resulted in sales. Most pay per click advertising works the same way. But then, along came the freeloaders (us) who make the most of gathering points or cashback for signing up or clicking through the links, but seldom actually spend any significant amount. In fact, most of us sign up, pay £20 and claim back £25 (as an example) and cost the companies £5 per person. That's a huge amount of money if, for example, 100,000 people did the same in a day... it eventually must have a knock on effect and that could be the demise of pay per click. It isn't just Pigsback, there are quite a few have completely pulled out of the programmes and are researching alternatives or setting up for themselves.

    What does all this mean?
It means make hay while the sun shines! :)

Hi peeps, I'd really like some help with this little problem - I've just hung my washing out on the line, but it looks like I just pulled it straight out of the basket and bypassed the washing machine entirely! I'm using soapnuts, don't seem to have problems with cleanliness but everything is diggered in hairs! (from the cats and I have long hair). Anyone know what I can do please? Thinking Marru, Nyk and SophiesMum must have lots of experience here...or anyone else...?? Could it be a filtery thingy in the machine?

Sounds like you're doing well Marru, and new additions to the family, WOO HOO! :j Happy days! :j I reckon the choccy cake and wine are allowed :D

DD once blocked all my filters after washing her horses rug:eek:
I did what nyk suggested and cleaned the filters i could get to , then I ran a hot wash empty and used a lttle washing soda to clear the pipes out. If you put a piece of sponge in with the clothes it seems to pick up the hairs whilst washing, then you can just pull them off when washing finished. There are two of us long haired here and all DD's riding gear too and don't usually have a problem.Try not to overload washer to give clothes room to move about and loosen hairs;)
