Even though Janeys OH never even posted he was real to us as we have followed his exploits with his buying lots of tools and having his new shed built after the fire, having naughty dinnerparties whilst Janey was away, blowing the budget on dvd's and yet more tools, going in for his op and then starting to convalesce at home.We know janey loved him even down to his father christmas like figure as it shone through in her posts, and through her posts we learnt about him too and about Janey, and that's why we are all feeling for her right now. One of our virtual friends is hurting and that's when the limitations of online friendships really show as we feel so helpless to do anything. We can only send our words but with them we are sending our love and support to you Janey:A :A
This has really made me take stock and realise that I don't tell my OH and kids often enough that i love them, so I am going to make an effort to make sure that i do.
To everyone else on this thread :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: I think we all need a hug today.
I can't believe you made me cry.0 -

Me too. I want to thank Sophiesmum for wording out so beautifully what we all have been thinking."Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

So sorry to hear your very sad news Janey. You will be in my thoughts.Doing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......
My DD might make the odd post for me0 -
Thank you all so much.
You will not be surprised to hear that Tom's goodbye will be the most unfrugal farewell I can put together.
He was a bighearted man who I have been privileged to have in my life. He was an honourable man and a loyal friend. The best Santa you could imagine who brought magic into childrens' lives. His sense of humour and mischief was legendary. A cook to rival Gordon Ramsay but he never raided his voice.
And such a kind loving human being.

Oh, Janey. What a wonderful picture of a lovely man. Thank you so much for telling us. Hugs and love and everything we can send you. Words fail me.
love as alwaysIf you see me on here - shout at me to get off and go and get something useful done!!0 -
Hi all. Feel a bit stupid posting this after Jany's news but wanted a record of it so here goes...
My June spends were £459.72 and my 6 month average is £476.05/m. Having now done 6 months of my budget and analyzed my spending, it appears that my worst category is going out (v expensive here and can't do it for less than £30 a night just for a couple of glasses of wine and a pizza) and house purchases (replacement of small electrical things that blew up grrr and a couple of new things)
So it looks like my 6K prediction of a few weeks ago will be fulfilled. Oh dear. On a positive note, at least I'll have a starting point from which to cut down from next year!2009 CLEAR MORTGAGE:starmod: (17/2/09) LIVE ON 4K Q1:staradmin(£5,405) SAVE 30K (£9.500)0 -
