I don't know if I'll even can watch tomorrow's big race. I've just heard there are at least 2 teenagers riding in it and can't help but compare them with the boy racers that plague our roads. Do a couple of 19 year-olds have enough sense to ride the national course in a field of 40 without getting into boy racer mode? Have they developed sufficient consideration for the safety of others? I am assuming they will consider the care of their mounts first and foremost, but I wrongly thought that of teenagers and their precious cars. How can teenagers be experienced enough jump jockeys to compete against each other is such a dangerous race? Sorry. This is completely off topic, but it's rather worrying and gives me a really bad feeling about it all. Should I place the bets for my choices to finish in one piece rather than be placed or win?I reserve the right not to spend.

Bails sorry about wee mousie, don't like the mummy and daddy ones but your one looked so cute!!!
Whitewing.....Feel for you, I would feel resentful too. you're absolutely right to make your feelings clear
Nyk.....Elizabeth Taylor did it in National Velvet;)
Everyone have a great weekend, its a lovely spring evening here but I don't think the forecast is very great
Speak soon
PS big dentist bills looming, :mad:cheerio hen0 -
nyk, your determination for everything makes me read in awe! I don't have anything like the organisation that you do - did i read that you already have the money to put in 08/09 ISA?
Bails, I'm so sorry to hear about frugalmouse, the last hours of his life were made all the better by you.
jumble-bee, that's also impressive of you! I spend my student loads on living, going out etcso I never have enough to just plonk it in there all in one go.
For me, its been another NSDAm going to a jazz concert tonight, but my mum bought me my ticket as a treat, so that'll be nice
I won't take any money to buy any drinks with, so hopefully I'll be able to get a pint of water to have through the night! Apparently there's a dance floor too, so hopefully it'll be a good night!
Have had 4 NSD's in a row now, so that's something at least. I hope April I'll be able to make up the money overspent in March, and maybe be able to save something along the line.

I did manage another NSD, and I'm feeling a lot more positive about uni now. Only 45 days to go until I can work
I wish I had the restraint to save my student loan. I'm using this term's to pay off some debt- does that count? I find the challenges that everyone is doing really interesting. I don't think I could cope with anything else at the moment, but they give me ideas for the future.

Hi,
well I had to get some food shopping and petrol today. I'm picking a friend up from the airport tomorrow, otherwise I would have just made do. The food was just a 'top up' to make meals for the week with what I've got in. I'll have to do a big shop next week..
On the plus side...I managed to not get a takeaway tonight. DH is away, DS is on a sleepover, DD3 is having tea at a friends, DD1 has gone to Youth and didn't want anything and DD2 is having a sleepover and they are making pizzas. I so wanted to treat myself with something....but I decided not to.
I didn't get around to listing anything yesterday either. I'm going to try to do a few things tomorrow, also some Amazon.
I need to go through children clothes before listing bundles of stuff.
I've been doing some research to see what sells so I don't end up paying fees that I don't need to. I'm going to have to do a car boot as well, though, to get rid of all the other stuff.
I had a look on ebid, but it seemed really quiet, so I was unsure...
Anyway, I'm sure I'll be back, inbetween reading my book and sorting children out!!0 -
Hi Bails, sorry to hear about frugalmouse, he was so sweet. Like everyone says, you made his last few hours more comfortable. There's very little you can do for such small creatures, although tough little things generally, they can also be very fragile.
Bless you for trying so hard for him.

Yikes! £104 spent so far this month, it's going to be tough to try and come in under budget this time! £18 on classic car show entry fees and £86 on flights to Inverness. At least my Betfair and Coral cashbacks have tracked through Quidco, so that is a bit more income. I've also been offered one day of work for my old Uni, and my current boss will let me take a days holiday to do it, so I'm going to get paid twice for one day very soon!Live on £11k in 20110

Aah, thanks FFM, that's really sweet! We buried the little mite under the apple tree, looked like he was just sleeping (I'm such a softie!). The good news is I started working on OH today about the rescue chickens
so definitely keep me posted please Marru. I know I need to read up on it etc, and we'd only be able to have a couple.
This afternoon we planted up some veggies - leeks, two types of lettuce, mange tout, peas, spinach, broccoli, basil - hope they grow! We also cleared another patch (great space for chckens) and chopped up loads of wood for the fire.
It is seriously impressive to have this year's ISA allowance all ready to go! :T
Have fun tonight Slowlyfading! I think I may be about to get a shiatsu, woo hoo!
BTW, Q***co are offering £50 cashback if you register for Betfair and place a £10 bet on Grand National!!The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Good news: people are bidding on my ebay item :T Probably going to make about 10p but better than nothing especially as it was something I got free. Its going to be the first thing I have sold on e-bay and third time lucky as the first two times I tried with no luck. I've made some flapjacks as well, still waiting for it to cool so don't know what they taste like yet.
I thought today was going to be a NSD too but a DD has come out of my account. I don't think my £4000 is going to last much longer as I have decided I want a bed for my spare room this month - not that I'm going to spent all of what I have left but its going down quickly. And why do I have the good ideas too late? I went out for a meal with friends the other evening, very nice and I don't begrudge the £20 at all but why didn't I "forget" to get cash out so I had to pay with my cashback credit card ( again)!
Great news on getting a shiatsu Bails, but what is it? (I think it might be a dog, but then again it could be a massage:rolleyes: )0 -
