Welcome to ani*fan and WW2BR

Work is busy, busy, busy at the moment.
While doing some shopping for one of the ladies I am a carer for, got a mega bargain in the Co-op. 3 litres milk for 49p :D Could only take 2 bottles as I am running out of containers to put the decanted discount milk I keep getting. Pretty good though, 6 Litres for 98p :j

Some of my little cherry type tomatoes are obviously not happy with the windy garden I have as their little leaves are going brown. I have draped some fleece over them to see if they will recover.

It's really cold here today so I have put the log burner on as DH is still feeling the cold dreadfully after his recent op. At least the log burner makes the room seem more cheerful.

I'm off to work again in an hour or so so off to make a meal for DH.

    Hi janey
    Hope Oh is recovering well:D
It has gone freezing here too this afternoon - just put heating on for first time in months.
Bet your ladies look forward to your visits at the weekends - weekends always seem a lonelier time for oldies.

Good: DS went to a bday party today, with a present and card I had gotten earlier in the year.

Better: Got given 1 bag sugar, 3 jars of coffee and 1 jar of chocolate ovaltine from my mum. Dad purchased but brothers tried it and don't like 'em!

Best: Had a longconversation with my friend (whose hubby died earlier in the year). Have texted frequently but not spoken for a while. Put a lot of things into perspective. Also saw family and all of them supportive about my stand on the job situation.
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

    Evening frunchkins,
Been a good day today, got everything on my list done except visiting my mum but off there later when OH goes to work.
Marmalades are cooling in kitchen - keep hearing the lids popping one at a time:D batch cooking is in freezer, cakes in tin, all is clean and tidy in the house and everyone is going out so I can have the place in peace to myself.

DD has just gone out with her friend who is a male, he would like her to be his girlfriend she hasn't made her mind up yet:confused: so up to now he is a "friendling" as she calls him. He does have his own place and a subaru but apparently he is not into horses:doh: which is high on DD's list of required qualities in a male:rotfl: - and there was me thinking of marrying her off - oh well :p.

Evening frugallers, and nice to see you all! It's been lovely catching up with everyone, first time I've felt able to take it all in properly since I went to Holland so that's good. Probably helped by the fact that OH is away so I slept really well last night and got up at 11! :D
I've just spent a lovely afternoon catching up with an old friend I haven't seen since last August :j I don't get to see too many people so it was particularly lovely being able to sit in my kitchen and just chat and laugh for hours. He just happens to be rather good looking too (there was a time when...) so even better ;) I so hope he never reads this :rotfl:
Anyhoo, I feel a lot more positive and upbeat; sleep really is the best medicine. I'm going to get back on the frugal wagon and improve my efforts again, especially now we're not going travelling anymore and I know what we're doing for the next few months.
Whitewing, so sorry to hear about your job; I like the good, better, best lists, always great to keep some perspective.
Sophiesmum, you are so incredibly active, I don't know how you do it but it all sounds wonderful!
Great news on the holiday planning Nyk, going to be a lot of fun! Thanks for the link too, I'll have a look and bookmark it for later on.
MrDT, you make me laugh! I know Marru's not here at the mo but I do know that after Irish, Welsh is her favourite accent, so you could be a toy boy yet! Don't suppose you fancy training to be a vet? :D
Hi Mumzy, nice to see you back, wondered where you were.
Redglass, don't envy you your marking - that is the one thing I really don't miss about work!
I'm loving the idea of the Armed Forces thread, don't think I can bring myself to look though - one good looking man a day is enough for me! I used to go out with a Royal Marine, do you think he's on there? yum!
Janey, I hope you are looking after yourself too. Hope OH is making a good recovery.
Ooh, almost forgot - Hi Ani*fan:hello:, you're very welcome! You'll get loads of support on here to help you get tthose debts down again.
Think that's me just about caught up, off to play with the kittens and think about dinner. I am in SUCH a good mood! :T x

Hi to all and welcome back Mumzy! I haven't any specific news but I wanted to share this really, really cute link with you - it's a free webcam set up in a barn owl nest box and I've been watching the chicks - they are both soooooooo cute! I'll NEVER get work done next week! Will feel compelled to check on the furry babies! :) There are several other live webcams on the site, so it's a nice, frugal, relaxing, wildlife watching hobby :) Ooooh! There are 3 babies here! There's a tiny one hiding at the back of the nest! :D

On the subject of wildlife, DGD and I went to the camera room to see our local ospreys and we got to see the 3 new babies in the nest :)
