Oooh, Whitewing, not a nice position for you. *Hug* Janey, I had to laugh when I heard/read your comment about the difference between you and OH - we must be twins!

The weather here can't make up it's mind. Sun, rain, wind, all in 4 minutes, welcome to Wales - or, on a day like yesterday when it rained solidly - this is Wales, and you're welcome to it!!

Gotta dash - washing to get out before it and I get wet[ter]
If you see me on here - shout at me to get off and go and get something useful done!! :D

Nyk, I have an occasion for you to break out your crazy dancing smilie... I GOT A FIRST!!!! :T :T :T :T :T which is a total surprise (though I am always hard on myself after exams so I never expect good grades, lol). I also won two prizes which means I get money!!!! lol. it's only first-year exams so it doesn't count for much but I'm still really pleased.

have been partying hard this week but not spent much as my tickets to events were all pre-paid. paying for yet more train and coach tickets this afternoon but oh well. everything is a-ok :D.

that sounds a right pain with the job situation, whitewing, well done for standing your ground. and I so know what you mean about the needing to spend thing, Marru... I started this challenge intending to be really strict and not allow myself any 'extra' money (i.e. when I spent pigsback vouchers I transferred the equivalent into my savings account etc) but eventually decided to allow myself to spend boots points if I wanted to which means I can buy myself a little treat now and then when I am tempted without spending real money. could you maybe think of something like that?

am off to celebrate in the sunshine! then I need to pack up my room. hope you all have nice days xxx

:hello: everyone! Well, tuesday and wednesday were NSDs :) I'm having homemade soup for lunch with a crusty roll, and then I'm off into town where the only thing I'm going to get is some stuff from Boots, but I have a voucher for there for £10 so I'm only spending money on my bus fare! :j

I am in the middle of doing a survey and it seems to have crashed  I can't seem to get it to do anything - it won't upload the next page and won't go back or anything either. Oh well, it was only a few points, but they all add up. I've been trying to save up all my points from different places to start thinking about buying christmas presents, as I usually leave it until the last minute and I usually have no money to buy anything! So I'm hoping this year will be different, though I'm trying to kid myself more than anything :rotfl:

andromache - well done on your results! I get my Degree grading next week, as I'm in my final year, and am really really nervous! Have fun celebrating such a great mark!

whitewing - I'm sorry to hear about your job, what an awkward and horrible situation for you to be in. Here's a dodgy hug for you :grouphug:

Andromache - happy096.gif (I can't find my dancing smiley, sorry)

Mr DT - well done on the £25! Must get back to that thread and check it out. Double check all the small print on casino sites as some charge you a monthly fee if you stop playing after withdrawing funds. They don't just all allow accounts to lapse, they need to be physically cancelled and some have time scales.

Marru - I'm thinking you are suffering from 'naked wedding finger' syndrome! Fortunately, you are in a 'singles' situation, which means that symptoms won't be as severe as those experienced by those in a 'relationship' situation. I wear my gran's engagement ring simply because I hate the fact I'm this age and not married - I know it's psychological and counter productive but I houseshare with a man, so he gets the blame. :rotfl:
Sorry to hear about DD, I agree with what's already been said - even minimal stress can cause it, whether physical by means of infection or psychological by way of changes in situations.

Janey, I agree with you - us MSE'ers can deal with any recession that may appear. I may be homeless by then, but I will be able to budget for food and some Sue Ryder designer wear. :rotfl:

Tryingtodobetter - it's never too late to join a challenge - the IB challenge only started at beginning of new tax year in April, so has another 9 months to run. Mine's for tax free income but others are counting in cashback etc. You're welcome to join us anytime.

    Brilliant! :T
Sorry to everyone having a hard time at mo with various things, hope they sort themselves out soon.
Well done to Andromache on the first, SophiesMum on the WL and Redglass on the Freecycle results! :j
Things are pants, pants, pants here - I'm in the gang of peeps with OHs with opposing ideas about money :( It's not really serious yet but I'm scared of losing someone else I love very much because of money...
Anyhoo, the sun is shining and there's a blustery wind, hopefully get to enjoy it later. Have a great afternoon all, good luck with the bingo x
ps one of my best friends just bought this place

    bails,

Lucky, lucky friends - it's gorgeous.

Think there is about the same age gap between H2B and me as your OH and you. I have to make allowance for that some time. Best of luck. You don't have to lose him, just keep reminding him, and train him gently.

Thanks Whitewing, it's just I lost my fiance this way and would hate history to repeat itself.
Isn't it a lovely looking place? They got it for a bargain too, will have to find out what! Can't wait to spend some time up there soon.
Marru, forgot to say, well done on the PP quiz win, v lucky! I've been doing them for ages with no joy.
And as for the MB, as long as you read the stuff very carefully there's no risk - that's the beauty of it.

No risk or not, I daren't go there!

Can I join your club, Bails? I think Janey and I would be interested  - can I have reduced price membership since I'm ancient? ;) Wouldn't be MSE not to ask, would it?! I'm due for The Conversation tonight, so had my head stuck in spreadsheets and receipts ALL day. Someone remind me why I do this, so often

all the best to everyone - wish me luck
