Pirategirl - I have sown all my seeds indoors, in trays, on windowsills. I have also just spotted this article about growing lettuces in old guttering pipe so next time I see any of the plastic stuff lying around or binned, guess who would like to try it?

This is link to what comes up when searching for patio gardening here on MSE. There are hundreds of hints and tips, I keep finding more and more, including a month by month 'jobs to do in the garden'. :)

That's a great tip about the guttering, thanks Nyk! We're struggling to get any free for our slug moat so we may have to buy some, unless anyone has some bright ideas?

    Happy birthday, Sophiesmum! :bdaycake:
Oh dear, not done very well recently. :( I've been so busy that I've just staggered home every day, worked through the evening and then dropped into bed. (It's coming up to AS exams and the usual last-minute preparation hell has broken loose.) As a result I've let things go, bought snacks from work, stopped adding up all my daily spends, and today it was non-stop comfort eating ending in a huge blow-out/ Friday night wine fest. Never mind, the links to nissen huts, underground houses, eco-houses etc are so inspirational that I'm going to get right back on track. Honest.

If anyone is in need of some inspiration, watch BBC2 now, about a group of disabled teenagers crossing the Andes with a friend of mine. This series never fails to give me a sense of inspiration and perspective x

I'm watching this too - and it does put worries into perspective. :)

NYK, thank you for the links, and the encouragement! I have so much to do housewise, think a lil bit of gardening might give me time to wind down after much work. (or will make me more stressed cos of the slugs etc etc, lol)
I will see what I can work out.

Bails - know exactly what you mean about things being put into perspective...

Cant remember what else I was going to comment on, except I had a quick sqizz at the various houses..and I want them all thankyouplease.

Duvet is calling, up early again tomorrow for odd jobs ..take care everyone.

    *salutes*

    Hi all,

Sophiesmum - so glad you have had a great day. Good news about the box :T.

I survived from my car repair with only just under sixty quid so not too bad. The car is now oh so quiet. Still have been naughty and not done my sums.

I am trying to do some kind of meal plan and then hit Lidl and not do big Mr T until in June. Let's see if that helps with my budget. Only thing is that no school or nursery for DD in last week of May and there is nothing wrong with her appetite. She eats as much as I do and then she says half an hour later that she is hungry.

42 nights for my weekend off in Lake District :j(not that I am counting)

Oh no it's not Sophiesmums birthday anymore! I missed it!!!
Hope you had a lovely day.Belated birthday wishes coming your way :)
I've been so busy today I've not had the chance to get online. This morning I did a course on peer massage with my DD at her school. It was lots of fun and really relaxing. Then I went for a 6 mile walk with my friend. We decided to try out a few public footpaths across fields to see where we ended up ( in a filed of cows at one point!!!!)
Then tonight I was treated to fish and chips(by my ex) sitting by the harbour watching the boats come in.I love the harbour.I could sit there all day and actually have on occassions lol.
lost my way but now I'm back ! roll on 2013
