Hello everyone. It has taken me 2 hours to catch up. you all seem to have had loads of fun these last few days. I have been busy but don't seem to have a lot to show for it.
We went to blackpool zoo to check it out on tuesday. We had a lovely time.
It was a bit expensive at £39 for three adults but fortunately the youngest was free with the ticket off the cereal box so we saved £9 on that and we took a picnic.
It is quite a nice zoo and they are making lots of improvements which I am looking forward to seeing when they are finished.
I wanted to see if it was worth getting a years membership for myself and youngest son so we can go often and study the animals closely(we home ed). It is £66 for the two of us for the year and we can go as often as we like.
I just have to work out the best way to get there without the car.DH goes to work a 5am and I do NOT want to take him to work so I can have the car at that time.0 -

Good morning fellow frugallers:D
Looks like another lovely day here, I am in a happy mood as it is my birthday today and I will be getting spolied:D . OH has surprised me with a lovely Joules picnic basket which I was eyeing up in the equestrian shop recently but was too stingy to buy:rotfl: Good excuse now for more days out and picnics;) Can cross that one off my wish list now:p
Plans for today:
Check on greenhouse and veggies, go to costco for work and check prices of rice, flour etc for my bulk buying challenge, cook tea for the oldies tonight, sort my office out in between ready for the relief manager when I go on my jollies next week:D
Have a good day everyone, hope the bingo peeps had some luck during the night;)
Catch up with you all later.0 -

Grrrrrrr really cross with myself this morning, just realised I've been charged £25 unpaid item for a cheque. The most annoying thing about it is that I had the money sat in my linked savings account with the same bank but just forgot to transfer it across in time     Off to drown my sorrows in a box of chocolate fingers!!!!Credit Card Debt

Thanks for that. It seems a bit fluid. It looks like if I could live off 4000 I'd be going UP in the world instead of struggling, because my annual spend after house, car running costs, loan repayments etc is about 2900GBP (sorry, Spanish keyboard, no pound sign) but there you go. Anyway, I'll let you get back to your bingo, but as I live in Spain, hearing dos mujeres gordas, ochenta y ocho or todo de los nueves, noventa y nueve doesn't have the same ring as the English originals.
Wow! £2900 for a full year?
The following is everything I include in my budget and I would really, really appreciate your comments on how it compares to Spanish prices. My household comprises of 3 adults, the house is very old and cold and we live in quite a rural area of Scotland, hence the heating costs. Many thanks, in advance, for your feedback
Groceries: £1200
Gifts/Special Occasions: £500
Utilities (Heat, light, telephone, mobile phones): £1500
Household Insurance: £60
Internet - broadband wireless network: £240
Everything else: £500 (clothing, footwear, household goods, holidays, entertainment, socialising)
Would I be better off living elsewhere, like Spain?I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.
