 :D Hi Everybody:hello: :hello: :hello:

Frugal plans for today - make a loaf, make some yoghurt, cook roast dinner for oldies and eat for free, make soup with any left over veggies.
So glad I got the work done on garden yesterday as it is piffling down here this morning, and DS washed my car too so all the outdoor work is done:D

I am driving OH mad with talk of narrowboats and motor homes, bulk shopping, growing my own ,and all manner of money saving ideas:idea: . The hard part is to come up with a scheme that combines all the frugal elements to have a truly sustainable way of life. Bulk buying and growing stuff wouldn't be realistic if you were travelling and space limited so you would have to make saving's elsewhere. For us moving to another country with a much lower cost of living and then implementing frugal habits would probably work out more realsitic and sustainable. Nice to dream though:D :D

looby - loo   at the car.

catch up with you all later.:D

    Hi mollymop.
Are you going to be shabby chic - ing the dresser?? There has been some great stuff done by people on that thread. I'm toying with the idea of giving the pine drawers and cabinets in my bathroom an overhaul:rolleyes:

Good luck with the job, Whitewing, and I hope you manage to keep it on your former wage which I'm sure wasn't too much considering all you do. What a pity you're not one of the directors of Northern Rock! No frugalling in their households, I imagine..

Good morning to all and to thee of little faith, we have faith in the powers of Fruga. :D (Umm, except I sincerely hope that it isn't in any way sacrilegious to say that! Apologies if it is, especially on a Sunday, if you are a good Christian churchgoer!)

For all our campervan fans, the website I read (including the reference to Mr T's) was at www.campervanlife.com

It's overcast and looks like it could rain here and the car boot sale is due to start in about 20 minutes. It certainly doesn't look very busy in the street to say there's such a big event going on today! I wonder if it was advertised anywhere, considering I only heard about it yesterday and I can see the thing from my window upstairs window! Can't see many cars or boots!

Off for a quick cuppa and nice slice of toasted hm wholemeal and I'll update you all on the joys of my first outing to a local carboot sale. (I've only ever been to one before this in my entire life! )

Edited in: my post looked too  so here are some :D :T :j :rotfl: to brighten it up on a drab day. Hope the sun is shining wherever you are :)

    Good Morning Fellow Frugallers :D

I am working extra today and have just got home after my first load of visits to the old folk. I do love this job :D
DH is making chicken broth as my Mum keeps buying cooked chickens and then not eating all of them:eek: so, as I am a dutiful and frugal daughter, I bring half the chicken home and it gets frozen or converted into something nice which we share.
Its a really wet day today so I have got all the myriads of bedding plants sitting in the porch so they can get a bit more light than in my dark kitchen. Our garden is still like a scene from a post-Apocolyptic movie so I have no idea where I will put them all :rotfl:
slowlyfading please don't think your life is uneventful. Sometimes I would very much like an uneventful few months....a house fire and a car crash is too much excitement in 3 months. Not to mention our creditors getting a bit shirty. The new job. DH going into hospital soon.Niece stopped speaking to me cos we won't lend her anymore money. Oh, and the dead things in the kitchen courtesy of cats 1,2 & 3 :rotfl:
Now, my idea of heaven and a great night is ...dressing gown and pjs on, a packet of cheapie digestives (23p) and a cup of coffee to dunk them in :T
Can I come and help you potting up your tomato plants :T

Re the travelling bus dream. I did toy with it once. But, apart from not being able to have a soak in the bath (unless I had a Winebago par excellence) DH is a rather large Santa type person so I would have to sit in a trailer attached to the back :rotfl:

whitewing sympathy about the job. Aren't some Employers awful

ooohhh mumzy lucky you. I will be off to start cooking lunches for the old folk soon and my little tum will be gurging and rumbling by the time I've finished.
I don't know what DH will be making today.
He is drooling over the wood he picked up for a song from a local scrapyard and is busy turning it into a new top for our table. The base is from another scrapyard that we paid £10 for 10 yrs ago. It states "UK Atomic Energy Authority" on the bottom and we think it was an old desk or document table. But we will have a fantastic huge table for under £100.
