Well, a second NSD. Around the 4-12 are when most things go out of my account so it is a real false sense of financial 'lull' - in fact, I had 3p paid into my current account as interest.
No spending it all at once though!"Stay Wonky":D

I've caught up at last and it's all because I went wandering off to find out what happens in the 'DT' after reading about it here. :rotfl: How easily distracted am I? I came back here via the new saving in the country (or something like that) thread.
I've just received a cheque for £10 from Mutualpoints and an email from Greasypalm saying they have issued a payment of £33.58 via BACS. On top of that, I've claimed the £6 I had in Topcashback, so that's almost £60 in one day! :j This is the first year I have ever done the cashback and points for pounds sites, so I'm not entirely sure how I stand with regards to this being looked upon as part of my income. The tax office has said that ANYTHING over £300 has to be declared as other income regardless of where it comes from, is this right? Marky? Marru?
Horror of horrors, I submitted the electricity meter readings and the bill has come in at £511! I have until the 11th to pay the full bill or lose my 'prompt online payment' discount. I really don't know if I am going to be able to keep within a £1200 annual budget for heat & light! It's utterly ridiculous, especially considering I have the exact same for heat and light as I do for groceries! After sweeping the chimney and deciding it would be cheaper to light the fire, we discovered that the water tank / back boiler has been disconnected downstairs and the fireplace has been removed from the main livingroom, so the boards are back up to stop the heat escaping up the chimney.
I'm off to check for my monthly message, "Sorry, not this time", on the premium bonds site and then I have a chicken to carve up and split between dinner and freezer.
I'm glad we have a good crowd here because some of the comments I have read elsewhere beggar belief. I guess we are really lucky in that any nonsense gets dealt with fairly swiftly in here, so just tell me if I'm grumbling too much about the cost of electricity and I'll change the subject.
Hope everyone is having a good day, well done Penny, catch you all later.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

I know i'm a latecomer but i really need to get debt free this year and i think (alright i know) that if i can do this i will definitely be debt free which will allow me to move my life onwards and upwards.

Hello again, I'm trying to sneak back in with no-one noticing .... but don't want to be ignored, if you know what I mean?!
Oh, what the heck, I'm back - hard luck :rotfl:
I've had a NSD every day so far - wow! two out of two :rotfl: It's easy for me as I live part way up a mountain, 6 miles from town so it's an expedition to go in. Unfortunately, DH doesn't see it like that ... so has been known to hop in the car and go in 3 or 4 times in one day
I've acquired a fleece for DH, moved around more furniture and am sorting out the "stuff" that I have been falling over for years. It must be Spring:j
My budget? Still can't look at it, but am certainly less dreadful than I used to be. I shall sit down tonight and get on with it - nag me, please
Has anyone been over to the Jamie Oliver Champagne Challenge thread? It's interesting to see all the £5 or under dinners for 4. I go all hot and cold just thinking about spending that much on a dinner for 4! I think that the members of this thread would deeply impress Mr S and Mr Oliver - or maybe Mr S just doesn't want us to be able to spend even less in his store .. .. what do you think?!
Back to the throwing out, if I stop now I can't even cross the room :rotfl:If you see me on here - shout at me to get off and go and get something useful done!!0 -
