Morning all - and good luck JET!

I overslept this morning; the clocks going forward have confused me - my body clock hasn't caught up with 'real time yet! My monitor (flat screen) now takes half an hour to warm up when I switch the PC on. I ordered a new one a week ago which will take two weeks to arrive apparently. I can't wait, though, because this one is driving me mad! It's done well, though - it's almost three years old and I keep being told they don't usually last that long! This one is 15" and my new one will be 19" so will be worth waiting for.

(((Hugs))) to SMOKY and the LOs.

    CHURCHMOUSE - :hello: :hello: :hello:

AUSSIE - I loved the pic you posted yesterday which you SAID was TIRED MUM'S DH when I really think he is your dream man!

Mr MIOLIERE says thanks very much for all your birthday wishes yesterday - he was very flattered when I told him that lots of girls said 'happy birthday'! I bought him a couple of CDs and a new landline telephone because our old one was driving him mad, it was so old. This new one has three bases and three handsets and does everything except the ironing!

I barely had time on the computer yesterday - we had lots of visitors plus I had to help him take his mitre saw apart and fix it (and on the kitchen table, too) so that he could adapt some shelves in my office. I have a lot of paperwork to do for him this morning and then I hope to treat myself to the afternoon on here once he's back at work!

HESTER - caught up with Katy's latest on your blog! Don't really know what to say about it!

Well, I've already taken DH his cuppa and he's obviously gone back to sleep - I can phone him internally on the new phone rather than shout up the stairs so I'd better go and do that!

See you all later and I'll try and catch up with yesterday's thread when I can.

(((Hugs))) to all in need and all who are poorly.

    KathyXX

REDRUBY - just read your post - your parents must have felt awful about it! Two birthdays isn't a bad result, though, is it?!

Morning, I'm just about ready to leave for work.
Thanks to the cat, i was still awake at 4.15 this morning, i think I'm going to get him a cowbell to wear so he stops stealing birds and bringing them in for us.
Hester, having read the blog, I dread to think about katy's online antics

    Oooo Pen whats calzone ?

    xx

Sounds fancy, doesn't it :j It's folded over pizza :D;) and in Italy we had it served with a small amount of lightly cooked tomato on top :j Edited to say - DG, please don't take this the wrong way, but that video of how to make calzone looks all wrong - cornmeal   I just make an Italian pizza dough, put filling on one half and fold over, then bake - easy!

Ruby, I'm  that your parents (amongst others) couldn't remember your birthday. Though I'm one of 3 sisters and my mother had to go through all our names to get the right one. Now she has 3 SonsIL and 6 GChildren, she has even more names to get wrong, and still calls my DD by another name which is similar to hers :rotfl:

Hester - or :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: at what Katy did yesterday. She can't top your blog story, surely ;)

    Smoky - hugs

Beemuzed - I love John Lewis. I've been known to arrive at opening time and not leave all day :o There stuff can be expensive (though not always) but it's brilliant quality.

Catowen - have you won a tractor yet

Kyle - hows your DSs? Hope they're on the mend :A

    Good morning everyone,

Had a lovely day yesterday, friends husband came and changed the bulbs in my car (new break light and another, not sure which one tho!!) and also did a better job with the towel rail and loo roll holder han i did!!! We also attempted to mend my fence - its not brilliant but will do until i can afford some new panels - just hope we dont get really strong winds again!
They had brought round 2 bottles of wine, which went down really well with the roast chicken, and we had raspberry brule cheese cake for afters - have some of the pud left over for later today (was from Iceland, not HM im afraid, but was delicious) and a little wine left as well so looking forward to that later. When they left i did a bit of gardening, so planted out some leeks, carrots, beetroot and cauliflower - i have no idea if any of it will grow, but i will be keeping my fingers crossed. No shoots yet from my potatoes or onions i planted, cant remember if it was last weekend or the one before, but hopefully in the next few weeks they will start to grow.
Today, im back at work - but only have one here today and she is an older one so should be a nice easy day. WM is already on with my bedding, it rain overnight (good for my veg) but it looks like it will be dry today, so i am hoping so because i do have another load to go in when this one has finished (DS played outside yesterday, why do boys love rolling in mud??!!) and would like to get it all outside. Im planning on doing some cooking and baking today - not sure if it will happen, but thats the plan!!!
I did manage to get the hoovering done yesterday, so just the bathroom and toilets to get swished, and the kitchen floor to do today (especially if i do the baking!!)
OK, need to get moving before my 2 appear!!!

kyle - hope you are all feeling better today xx
Kathy - HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your OH (i thought i would go for the middle date!!)
Martyn - hope you are having a few better days now.
Smokybabe - ((HUGS)) i hope you and the children are OK. xxx

Pen pen - no tractor yet!!!! Im still entering tho!!!
mrs mix :hello: Taplady :hello: Shez :hello: Tru :hello: Haribo :hello:

Morning all, I have spent most of yesterday pulling my hair out because I cannot receive any emails. I have been trying to sort out the problem since 5.40 this morning only to discover that Onetel/talktalk have techie problems. I am worried because my Aunt is in intensive care and my cousin was going to email me with the latest news, he doesn't have a mobile. I don't know which hosp she is in so I can't phone. Am so worried. My other Aunt died a couple of months ago, I am /was very close to them both. Don't know what to do. We are due to go to Oxford for a week, I had a friend around yesterday to change my comp over to wireless, he gave up after 5 hours. Where is a 6yr old when you need them !! I will take my laptop with me but I haven't used it before and because he couldn't make this comp wireless I don't know if the laptop will work, as you have proberbly have guessed I'm not that comp savvy. I'm wondering if we should still go or not. Don't know what to do.
Slept badly last night, Ive been in so much pain due to Nueropraxia, diagnosed 2 wks ago. Pain in both arms and no feeling in my hands at times. A bit like Carpel Tunnel Syndrome but it starts at my shoulders down to the wrist. I have to sleep with splints on my arms, I am using a wooden spatula on one and a butterpat on the other held with elastic bandages. What a sight !! the surgery don't have any splints at the moment so I'm improvising, well if thats not a bit of OS I don't know what is." Neccessity is the mother of invention"
Sorry to be so negative at this time of the day but am so down and worried about my Aunt as there is nothing I can do but worry.
Sending love and ((((((((( Smokie))))))))) and all in need of one.
Feel ashamed about moaning now, must put things into perspective sorry :o

    Morning all.

Hope everyone is okay today. For anyone who isn't, take comfort in knowing that you aren't alone and you don't need to suffer in silence. However faint it might be, there is a light at the end of the proverbial tunnel. I personally feel a lot better today and that's due to the fact that yesterday I had a great afternoon and an even better evening :j The inevitable balance of this is that atm, I feel a bit nervous about whatever my future might be.

It's my afternoon off today so I intend to use up some of the vast amounts of fruit I've collected in the 'fridge and bulk-incinerate some pies for the freezer. I've also been threatening to make some garlic scones  And other than a quick taste, yesterday's chicken soup is now in the freezer and I made do with a couple of HM scones for tea last night :o

Have a safe day and take care.
