  • Wow, isnt it amazing where we flyladies visit? I thought a few locals would have been to Knowsley but that was a wee treck for you CB :D

lol - Dad lives in Yorkshire, whenever we go down for a long weekend there is always a "surprise" for the little people. The journey is a lot shorter now that they get engrossed in their DS games ;) (well not lo but she is quite partial to falling asleep!)

Ah! That explains it. I dont have a car anymore, so I take the train. We take the laptop with us and watch a DVD so the journey isnt so bad. I'm not as stressed when I arrive either :rotfl: This week, I've got a complimentary first class ticket, so apparently I get free internet access. Hmmm, we'll see  I'm not holding my breath. I'll settle down for Harry Potter as usual ;)

You can touch the dust but please don't write in it !

Would you like to speak to the man in charge, or the woman who knows whats happening?

That reminds me - I have 5 packets of Walkers crisps, worth 10 points. I thought I had posted asking if anyone would like them, but maybe I didnt  I didnt eat the crisps, I wombled the packets from the pub ;)
  • Thanks for the fridge cleaning tips - will tackle that after lunch. Spent the morning removing grout / tile adhesive / unknown white sticky stuff from kitchen tiles -they are now gleaming:D

My EDD is now 12 June - have been booked in for c-section. Trying to get the house organised and clean ready for my recovery.

  • Right I must have joined and rejoined this thread so often it is untrue however I am now determined to get myself organised. I think last time I posted I asked for some of the baby dust that is always flying around here....well it worked and bubs is due on 18th July. So I need to get a routine sorted.

So here goes with "the list"

    Killer Kitchen - Monday
    Level One
[strike]Clear and wipe work surfaces[/strike] many times
[STRIKE]Clear the window sills (*rofl* not likely!!)[/STRIKE]
    Level Two
    Sweep and Mop the floor
[strike]Wipe the cupboards, appliances and all those manky corners!![/strike]still got some manky corners - will get to them next week:o
[strike]Take down and clean the lightshades.[/strike] have those funny halogen spots in kitchen
    Level Three
[strike]Clear and wipe the tops of the wall units... not you porky pregnant people though.. I know you are so keen![/strike] Am one of said porky pregnant people
[strike]Wipe over all those small appliances.. don't forget the inside of the microwave![/strike]even the george foreman is clean!!
[STRIKE]Wipe out the gicky parts of the fridge and have a quick check for what needs restocking.. I have locusts off school!! [/STRIKE]cleared out anything out of date
    Extras
    • [STRIKE]Clean oven/hob if you must.. *rolls eyes*[/STRIKE]
    • HHI .. will do this while ds has bath with dh
    • [STRIKE]Clean windows[/STRIKE] done for the first time in the 4 years we've lived here:o
    • [strike]treat the pets for fleas!!! This is prime time for them to be developing an infestation.. the last thing you need in your house! .. left on in case you were lazy like me and missed this! [/strike] No pets
    • [strike]Go play a game with the children who have helped you today!![/strike] DS is constantly getting me to do stuff with him hence the house being a mess...he is only 21 months!!
    Childrens list.
    1. [STRIKE]Clear and wipe the table[/STRIKE] its as clear as it gets
    2. [strike]Load the dishwasher (DW) if you have one [/strike]Emptied from last night and todays pots have been hand washed
    3. [strike]Can you fill the washing machine (WM) with things that are all the same colour and switch it on?? This is a very important thing to learn.. many big clever daddies struggle with this job.. even our daddy.. so if you can do this.. you are cleverer than him! [/strike]Colored wash on as we speak
    4. [strike]If you are a bigger little person could you wipe over the fronts of the kitchen cupboards and fridge/freezer/washing machine.. sometimes you need to check the insides too as they get a bit sticky.. [/strike]Outsides done
    My list
Make tonights dinner (beef stew and mash)
    [STRIKE]
Take overdue library books back and choose some new ones
    Post letters
    [/STRIKE]

Also quick question about my beef stew. I have a tin of stewed steak in the cupboard. Could I add some stock to this and some veggies and cook it in the oven like a normal beef casserole?

Back later to update (or avoid doing the jobs I need to do!!!)

    Food scoffed.. :coffee::coffee::coffee: anyone??

Just waiting for the WM's to finish so I can get the next 2 loads in.. only managed 2 loads so far today though I have a bunch of dresses to hang up and list on ebay.. I will go grab the other boxes out of the shed while it is sunny I think.. My kitchen floor isn't visible under piles of laundry so it won't be getting swept until it is clear.. should be another 6 loads..
