Soappie's tip of the dayDo not buy pomegranate tea if you have cats.I have just spent the last five minutes trying to track down the smell of cat pee I could detect in the kitchen. I couldn't find any evidence. Wandered back towards my bedroom and DS calls from his room.
"Mum can you smell cat pee?"
"Yes I can - I've been trying to find out where it's coming from"
"See I told you" he turns to DiL "Your pomegranate tea smells like cats pee!"
And it does! Gross! Still, at least there are no puddles to clean upI am the leading lady in the movie of my life

mudbath - how about Hama beads? All of mine found them engrossing for hours.Do you have a Hobbycraft store anywhere near you? Masses and masses of materials for all sorts of crafts.
I have often done the pizzas and icecream factory, only problem is they'll be so high on sugar they'll never sleep. One of my friends call them shriek overs rather than sleepovers...
It sounds like a great party - can I come?It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
Hi everyone
Hardly been online all w/e. Was FIL's 70th birthday yesterday so I spent a couple of hours going through putting pics of DH on an SD card to go with the digital photo frame SIL bought. Brought a fair few tears to my eyes as there are so many pics to search through, horrible to know that there will be no more ever again.
We all went out to Damon's for a meal which was enjoyed by all. Kids ate free as we were booked in and ordered befo 6pmFIL got his meal free cause it was his b'day and MIL got hers on the over 60's deal. £85 for 11 of us
This morning the kids have been playing out on the back garden *note to get the grass mown this week* it has been lovely and sunny but very cold so they were wrapped up. Watched F1 whilst doing a min cross stitch of Santa! A started her own cross stitch and made a very good job.
Hugs, ooohs and aahs all round, sorry I missed the b'days hope you had a good time. Can't remember all that I wanted to say but Nicki I have some sympathy with you over DD. A & W have both used the 'I want Daddy' line with me particularly when they are very tired, hurt themselves or have done something naughty. Obviously they miss him and want him back but when they used the line because they knew I was annoyed with them I tell them that Daddy would be disappointed with them just like Mummy is. It's a bit difficult to get him on the phone!!! All kids like to try it on when domestic situations change and it's easier to lash out at the person that is still there. A firm but gentle approach seems to work for me and discussing why they feel like they do and what is and is not acceptable behaviour goes a long way to making life more harmonious for all concerned.
As to the Grand National we had a sweep with the family yesterday and I chose the winner and pocketed £11Chose it on the basis of it's name, good scientific way I think

Hex so sorry to hear you are still unwell, have you been to the GP/pharamcist
Nikki - thanks for mentioning TQ notes - kids need to do birthday ones - tomorrow
Dinner cooking. Sorting DS1 out is a mammouth task - he is such a teenager, lolling all over the place with the attention span of a peanut. He has now sorted out all his experiments and got his clothes out.
Quick list update before the new thread. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Hello everyone.
Very strange weather here. Can't make up its mind and alternates between sunny, snowy, haily. It's really quite dark again at the minute.
Just spent about 45 minutes doing 'flylady' stuff. Emptied off 3 airers so that they can be collapsed and stored out of the way before the carpet fitter comes tomorrow. Mainly PJs and DS's jeans, so no ironing mostly, although a small pile to try and clear in a short while. And all needs putting away when we wake DS from his nap. Also started packing a bag for DS to send with him to one of my sisters houses when i have the baby. 3 days enough do you thinkHopefully won't be in that long, but i would rather send too much and him be ok, and also saves DH too much running round if i have done it. Also, if longer, sister can wash some stuff if need be.
DH is trying to write his best man speech for next weekend, and i have written a list for next week, and hopefully it should be productive as the big DIY things are pretty much there just organising and sorting now. And only 41/2 weeks to do it in, and i want to spend a lot of that sat on my bum. It might sound bad, but i want to try and have the baby in the may bank hol weekend as the sister i would rather have charlie is about and not working, which will make things a lot less stressful for me. Shame it doesn't work like that. :rotfl:
Might wander over to the other thread and see what delights pigpen has in store for us.
