It's snowing even harder here. It still isn't lying on the paving though, but the shrubs all look like a Christmas card . Tulips just don't look right in the snow.
Thankyou dusty - I'm hoping she has an absolutely fantastic time, and I shall try not to let my anxiety reach critical levels! It's two years since DS1's trip, and exactly two years to the day today that I had the phone call to say he was seriously ill in hospital in China...I asked the head to text me just once during the trip to let me know she was okay, if she couldn't use her phone or email anywhere. He knows exactly why I'm anxious! Knowing rationally that she'll be fine, is one thing, but every time I've thought about her going the last few weeks, my tummy has done that funny flip thing...That's another reason I wanted to do loads on the allotment and garden, as gardening is such good therapy for me!
Lunch was delicious, and I've looked for a holiday, but I'm still dithering about where to go. I quite fancy the Loire valley, although we'll have to spend a night somewhere about halfway, as OH not that keen on long drives. Or Brittany. I've not been there. It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
you dirty stop out! it's such fun though isn't it.

Afternoon all. Hugs, get well wishes & happy holidays where appropriate.
Thank you everyone again who has offered advice, suggestions or just moral support.
GF is still with us for today. She didn't feel up to shower this am (Mum insists on daily ones - but with CFS/ME it sometimes uses too much limited energy) so I washed her hair at the washbasin with her sitting on the shower stool, and blow dried it for her. She seems to really enjoy that. The agreement was that we would meet her parents in town this am but when I called they were doing the Asda shopping, so rather than wait in the cold, we headed for a couple of other places then went home via her house.
I had a coffee and chat with parents, who acted as though nothing has happened (although neither spoke to her when DH took her round for a while yesterday pm) and she cleaned out the hamster cage, then we came back. Her Mum was cooking something for lunch which GF really loves, but they never have when she's there, so we went back to town and bought some for ours!!! They really do seem to favour her brother, but I think it's psychological. Shoot me if I'm wrong, but Mum had v difficult labour and severe PND after her, ending up in a private clinic for a time. Her brother, although there were problems during the pregnancy, was a straight forward delivery and no PND. Never mind that fact that he is an irritating obnoxious little sh*t who I'd rather have for a week than a fortnight!
I had a warning light come on in the car on the way back from twon and it looks like it's the catalytic converter! :eek:DH says this is an expensive job, but the part isn't coz I've looked on the net!
Anyway, GF is now really looking forward to coming to the airport to collect my friends tomorrow morning. She and DS are watching a DVD and we have a happy house! I'm hoping that, if Social Services do make contact tomorrow, they will be able to offer counselling, mediation or something, just to get them through the next few months, then in November GF can make her own choices following her birthday.
I'm off to do all my floors, vacuuming, washing etc, then I'll get the ironing board out this evening!
I may be back later, but doubt if I'll do much flying this week! (Please may I have a holiday, Miss Pigpen?)DMP mutual support thread No: 433 - Mortgage - £54,556, Credit cards - £4012, Unsecured loan - £3,376, Other - £419

Lil-me - I know Wool quite well - did a short piece of work at Winfrith a few years ago. You're right, it's a lovely part of the country.
But ENOUGH! I really must do this bedroom. I have dragged the hoover in here and cleared the window ledge but have now been distracted by a cup of tea and the internet again.
Note to self: stop polishing paper clips!I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Mudbath, when my daughter had birthday sleepovers I bought pizza bases, and cut up all the bits for toppings and put into small bowls - they then made up their own pizza and cooked them. Then they had an ice cream factory - tub of icecream, thing of squirt cream, bottles of sauces, lots of sweet type toppings and they all helped themselves. They all really enjoyed it.
How old is your daughter? We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0 -

I used to find that my daughters friends loved coming to our house as they could do cooking, crafts etc., that they weren't allowed to do at home.We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0

Mudbath - I don't know what your time scale is but there are very cheap beads on ebay - best ones are from sellers called gem-home56 and piulochong (both in China). I had to laugh when I spoke to my sister last night though. I got 1500 Tibetan Silver Daisy beads the other day, bidding in the last 30 seconds coz I'd only just found them. I outbid her!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I didn't know she was after any more as she had bought loads when she was here for Easter.DMP mutual support thread No: 433 - Mortgage - £54,556, Credit cards - £4012, Unsecured loan - £3,376, Other - £419
