    WWW.EASTCOASTCYPRUSVILLAS.COM As mentioned above.

They have a villas in Agia Thekla which is outside Agia Napa on the beach and the Agia Thekla beach is a blue flag beach. The villas all have Greek God names and one to look at which meets you criteria is one known as Zeus.

The beach is 2 minutes away and Waterworld is a 5 minute walk towards Agia Napa.

There are some links on here - can't recommend them though as never used them but the town of Carvoeiro o the Algarve is very nice.

We have rented through these but the one we've had isn't up for rental anymore. http://www.algarve-prestige-rentals.com

would also vote for Holiday Rentals and Daltons Holidays http://www.daltonsholidays.com/searchresults.php?page=1&PHPSESSID=3aa7gc943r85n5od9ss3hklu23

    Phew!

Think may have found a secluded but not isolated villa in the Coral Bay area of Cyprus.

Secluded but not isolated is not easy to find....

Found the Daltons site to be one of my favourites.

Still fancy the Algarve, but not finding secluded/not isolated part a bit difficult - and I don't want to go to far west...

I'll probably end up have half a day on Canvey Island :D

Coral bay is north of Pathos. There is a beach at Coral bay (but nowhere near as good as the east coast for beaches) , but I don't think the sea that side is nearly as warm & some parts of it you have to be careful about swiming in, whereas the east side is great for swimming.
If you're not a beach person, it won't matter to you, but if you are it may.

I don't think the public transport is as frequent & good as it is between Ayia Napa & Paralimni, but that could be just where we were based was off the main road a bit & the heat was so intense (it was 54 on the beach in the sun) that it was hard to even walk "uphill" to the bus stop.

Pathos as a town goes way back & is quite uphill behind (maybe this all seemed worse because of the heat wave). But the harbour area is nice.

Coral Bay is a good 10 miles or so from Pathos (& thats the bus service thats not great!).

If you go to the east you have Ayia Napa, Nissi Beach, Portoras, Pernera & Paralimni all sort of beside each other, so much more to visit between.

Trouble is - can't find a villa that is right for the fussy beggars on the East side - in fact, there does seem to be a lack of them. Being near the beach is not the first of our priorities. We are after secluded but not isolated! Aaargh.

To be honest, I'm losing the will to live :D

Am giving myself a break today (well so far anyway) -just getting bored with looking at the moment....

I am still leaning towards the Algarve as can't find anything east cyprus. Can find LOADS on west coast Florida, but I'm the only one that wants to go there :o Prices are very reasonable too in comparison to Europe.

not sure if you've looked at this company - I had forgotten about them but we've used them before. I just typed in 'secluded villa algarve' and this is the first property entry.

    How nice is that.

This is nice, but would recommend a hire car, as a bit out of the way. My parents lived in Protaras and I just love it there. :)

Jennie - it doesn't fit all your requirements - you won't be very close to a beach and need tr travel a little for restaurants- but we stayed at the Villa Angela in Armou, Nr Paphos in 2006 and it was beautiful (it is still my son's favourite holiday and he has been to Orlando!). Incredible views and a lovely pool. Booked direct with the owner from ownersdirect.com . She was really helpful and we were given her mobile number for texting while there, just in case we encountered any problems (which we didn't) I will go look for a link for you and come back and edit. If you want anymore information, do ask. I also have a link to photos we took when there which I would be happy to send to you.

In 2006, the neighbours one side were expats and really quiet - they seemed to be out more than in. The other side were locals and we saw them hanging out their washing. They didn't have a pool so we tended to be the noisy ones (within reason) There were a few more villas on the row - really beautiful places, but we never saw a soul using them.

We rented two cars between us from a guy called Dino (Mum had used him before) and he dropped them at the airport and collected on return. He did us a great deal as we prebooked.

Oooooohhhhhh, makes me want to go back.

It looks rather nice - but the 'others' (can one divorce ones family?) are not keen on the look of the pool..

I will look at what else they have. Thanks Chris.

I'm back with the living tonight.. trying to ignore the vent board.. :o
