Villa in Cyprus or Algarve - help to find one please!

Looking for a Villa with its own pool, minimum 3 bedrooms.

There is going to be three of us travelling, all different tastes - except we'd like somewhere that is private - but in saying that, want somewhere that is also an easy walk to a local shop/supermarket and bars and restaurants - walking distance to a beach would be nice too but not as essential as the aforementioned.

We are thinking either Cyprus or the Algarve but are open to suggestions....

Last time we had a villa in Corfu which was half way up a mountain - and a long walk from anywhere - it was pretty, but not practical for all of us.

We are looking at the last week June and first of July - can be flexible - ie a week either way.

I've got cross eyed looking online and would appreciate any help thanks

Reason I'm asking for advice, cos obviously there are loads in brochures and online etc., is that you just can't beat recommendations...

I think our requirements of wanting both worlds ie private and near to pretty much everything (not clubs - none of us are youngsters!) is pushing it a bit!

Can't recommend any particular properties but www.villarenters.com and www.holidaylets.net will let you filter so that only the type of property you are interested in comes up and saves trawling through hundreds.

We have booked our Cyprus Villa hire this year with this company http://www.oceanacyprusholidays.com/
They are British people with a good local knowledge & were very helpful with all of our requirements for the perfect location. We are not due to travel until August, so can only say what the booking experience was like but if you look at there website or phone them up - they will call you straight back to avoid overseas call charges - I am sure they will be able to help. We also found looking through the all theweb sites a minefield! they can also help with car hire too if you need it!

Thank you, I will take a look at that.

I did find a nice villa (thanks to Francophiles links) that seemed to suit all our needs and fussy requirements but it was in the North and seemed cheaper than the south and I just wondered - why?

It's a while since I've been to Cyprus (15 years). Then the south would have been the most popular as a tourist destination. If you went for a trip into the north you had to make sure they didn't stamp your passport as you wouldn't have got back into the south because they hated each other. I know things have changed now and the north is becoming more popular and a lot of Brits are buying property there now so maybe that's why it's still a bit cheaper. I'm sure someone else will have more info.

We use www.holidayrentals.co.uk for booking self catering holiday rentals.
You can specify what you are looking for in the search areas, and they do have a lot of properties to choose from.
