Oh crikey we still call it the big light in our house! How very seventies of us!
It has been a 'big light' for longer than the 70's!
We has our house re-wired 2 yrs ago and had all the double wall lights in the living room individually switched. we have never haad the big light (4 bulbs) on since.
We have always used the wall lights - since the seventies - using the big one only when having parties and now we often only need one light on.0 -
We only ever use table lamps too, and they're on timers. Any visitor who overstays their welcome at 10.30 p.m. gets dropped a very timely hint when the room is plunged into darkness ! I suspect if we switched the top light with its little candle bulbs on, they would so covered in dust that they wouldn't emit much light anyway.0

These are ace - love them all, and do a few myself....what am I guilty off?
Ok cutting the nice (ish) isntant coffee (BOGOF) with value stuff 1/2 and 1/2 nice coffee to the value brand - no one ever notices.
Do the same with 'nice coffee' as sainsbury have started doing a basics 'real' bag coffee for £1.06
No fizzy pop here only diluting squash, (BOGOF only time I get it) and value fizzy water, kids think they are in heaven with fizzy juice as its such a treat.
Um what else - do alot of cooking the weekends and portion it up - cook a whole packet of (pasta, rice, cous cous etc) in one go - figure if I am using that much power it better be well used. Bag/box up most of it and freeze it or leave the pasta in a box in fridge for those must have snacks my daughter has before tea.
Cut my soappowder with value powder and deliberately have a cup a weeny bit small for the quantity I need - saves using too much.
Use bubble bath diluted in the liquid soap dispenser/ shower gel- we always have so much of it from chrissy.
My favourite one is this - learnt if from a friend. All those old veggies, you know the ones about to bend, almost squishy (or if squishy bits cut those bits out) the whole lot goes into a pot - peppers, lettuce, celery, tomatoes, onions etc etc etc and boil it up with a stock cube and about 1/2 pint -1 pint water. Chucking in some garlic helps and a tube of value tom paste is great....then puree the lot with a hand held puree thingmy. Voila home made pasta/pizza sauce - keeps in a sealed jar in the fridge for donkies, can be added to soups, pasta, sauces etc its awesome. Yeah and no one realised they were eating all those veggies they hated (tee hee) its even freezes in wee tubs etc.....
Just squished my toilet roll and watered down the milk!!
Oh yeah and when my son insists he can't possibly take a packed lunch to school I give him his lunch money and tell him he can keep what he doesnt spend - its amazing how frugal he is now!! He still eats well but 99% of time he does have some money left!!Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
