Hi, I've got loads of old contact lens cases as I get a new one with my lenses every month. Can't bear to throw them out and wondered if you clever people have any suggestions for using them? (I wash them in the small basket of the dishwasher, so reckon they'll be very clean!)
The only thing that I've come up with is a tablet carrier for travelling. (No kids in the house s no worries about child-proof tops) and decanting vaseline out of jar to use as lip salve. My OH suggested salt and pepper for picnics but don't seem to do many picnics these days!
    Any ideas please?

Would they do for carrying coffee granules and milk when out and about? I take a flask of hot water and make coffee up, often use a sachet if I've got one but if not take a tiny jar of coffee and milk for Husband if he's there (I have black coffee) .

Eenymeeny, I had never even thought of saving the contact lens cases. I bin mine every month.

You could put shampoo and conditioner in for after swimming.

Oh you have me thinking now! What about an earing holder for travel?
If winter comes, can spring be far behind?

Hmm, contact lens cases - you don't need to have a picnic to use salt & pepper - how about taking boiled eggs in to work?

If you are crafty, they could be used for separating out little beads.

Sure there must be loads more uses! Will have to think on it though...

Thanks everyone, I just hate to throw anything out, I thought that you would think of something. I started saving them because OH does oil painting and said they would be handy for small mixes? Of course, they just keep mounting up and he hasn't used ANY! :)

Perhaps you could sell them on eBay as craft containers. Martin would be proud :money::rotfl:

A tip for using lemon pips. My Nan used to save all sort of seeds and pips from various fruits that she used in crumbles and dinners as well as other useful things. When we grandkids were being looked after she'd get out the paints and thread and needle from the sewing box, we spent hours painting and making necklaces from nut shells, pips and seeds.

Doesn't sound like much when i say it now but they are some of my fondest childhood memories :-) :o
