I wanted to fleece line, and make, a lot of the curtains in my house and was going to buy cheap fleeces to do it. The only trouble was the very cheap ones were in very garish colours and, of course I wanted a cream shade which always seemed to be at least a fiver each when I looked!:p

Then I found that I could buy an 18m, 54" wide, roll of lovely, thick ivory fleece on line. Even including p&p it came to less than £2.50 a metre!:D

I made and lined all through, and because there was no waste I had enough left to loosely cover 2 armchairs and a set of dining chairs. I have lots of bits left for future projects and all in all I'm a very happy bunny:j

I used to post on the Preparing for Winter thread, but it seems to have died a death, so am inflicting my delight on you all on here instead:o:o

You can make it with Vodka which is a bit of a kick.... not that I have ever made it....:A:rotfl: I have seen it in shot glasses before

I was wondering about a "fizzy" jelly because I sometimes find ordinary jellies too sweet. The other evening I had a Tropicana drink of Orange & Passion fruit mixed with Schweppes tonic water which made a refreshing drink & wondered whether this could be converted into a jelly using gelatine and retain the fizz. Must give it a whirl.

On the subject of reusing things would you guys have any ideas for what to do with SMA Milk tins ?:idea:
They are the cylindrical containers that the powdered milk comes in and similar in size to a large tub of coffee and they have a plastic lid. I have found uses for the little plastic scoops and my older boy loves to use them in his sandpit too, but I have a lot of the tins left and they are quite a good size so it seems a shame just to throw them out but I just can't think of anything to use them for so I thought I'd ask you guys as you are an imagantive lot !!!

With the labels peeled off those are the very sorts of containers the Greeks use to grow their geraniums on every available surface. I'd be tempted to cover the tins in that self-adhesive patterned material (now, what is that stuff called? ) and use them for storage of some description as it seems a waste to not use those handy lids.

Cut a hole in the lid and use it as a moneybox!

See if you can donate the milk tins and their lids to a local school - they're excellent for storage of things like pencils, small scissors, whiteboard pens etc. etc. and the lids are easy to get on and off. Also, as they're airtight, they are good for keeping biscuits, crackers, breadfast cereal and so on crisp.
