Hi, just wanted to say 'thanks' for such a great thread!

It is a great idea to put all the recipes at the front. I am going to shop for liver pate and humous today - wish me luck! xx

    Hiya,

Let us know how you go with the recipes, always up for hearing about tweaks, or tips that you have! ;)

Hmmmm....did I miss summat? Have we got that recipe from you - for the peanut butter that is? pur...lease if we havent.;)

sorry ceridwen, just spotted this while indexing, I just used the same amounts as in my almond butter recipe, see our shiny new (nearly built!) index for details!!!

Updates on spending. Still quite scared about making it to the end of the month, all the basics are there, but a sudden lack of something important (or any poo debacles requiring more than the ration of toilet paper!) and we could be struggling!

Thinking of trying a jam roly poly to keep Mr W. sweet....

    Love Weezl x

(plus you can always come here for a poo if you need to...I'll even let you use 4 pieces of loo roll!! but if its a mega one you get to sort the flushing out :)

  • I'm sure we could all rally round and send you the bits you're missing :-). Tried the cinnamon bread today, had a bit of a disaster. The bag of flour I had was only 1kg not 1.5, so got half way through the liquid and it was definitely wet enough. Fortunately, only put half the spice and sugar in so it wasnt a complete disaster and doesnt look bad for a first attempt. Want to have another go and get it spot on, it's so simple I'm sure people would be impressed with it and coud rustle it up quickly. Definitely considering a BM now. thanks Weezl

Everyone here seems so good at cooking cheap so I thought I'd try to reduce our food costs too, just downgrading here and there where no one will notice (or so I thought!)
Tonight I served up spag bol but I used the T**** value sauce instead of our usual (and really expensive!) Dolmio.
    Whata mistaka to maka!!
DH did not like it and got the dear sweet teenagers to side with him too

The upside of no one liking it is that there is plenty of bolognaise left to make a lasagne next week!

I will not be defeated and they will eat it!!!

.....on the other hand if they won't eat the lasagna I might bring it with me and get the train to Cardiff, I hear there are hungry people there.....

Wonderful to have recipes at the front, just wish some of the other 'threads' would follow the same idea.
Love the sound of almond butter, but what do you use it for

Hiya Sandy2, I have the almond butter on toast for a breakfast, it's healthier than peanut butter!! ;) Glad you liked the index, it was really hard work!!:D
