Goes away...reminds self..."now I sent them enough links for them to identify it correctly", "now they had personal guidance on the spot", "now I sent them enough links....." etc.0 -
I'm awfully sorry to have scared you, I had creme brulee instead for pudding and fell asleep early watching Hugh F-W!
I shall try it as rhubarb compote on my breakfast.
Back very soon.
You are all sweet to worry!

Well - thats alright then - just had a quick checkback here. Now I can go off again to debate whether I can "strengthen" my Arnold Schwarzenegger style comment I made on todays blog entry.......heh! Wonder if I should threaten to turn up on Mr Brown's doorstep? That might do the trick...ceridwen on doorstep in angry mode....well it might put him off HIS breakfast0

ooooh I'll go and check out what an angry ceridwen looks like!;)
Now then..... knotweed. Hmmmmn. It is very like rhubarb, and the 'runny' compote is lovely.:money:
BUT. Imagine if rhubarb as we know it lay imprisoned under a 2mm layer of twig,:D and it's actual size was barely a mm thick, you couldn't peel it, but boiled it with 'twig' parts til you get a very runny 'Jus' of knotweed, which you drain and sweeten.
It is nice, it is edible, but dare I say it, After having turned a full carrier bags worth through careful sorting chopping and washing, into approximately half a jar of rhubarb Jam, my question is, dare I breathe it..... Is it worth it?!!!
Love,
Weezl x

hmmmm....shucks......back to the drawing board it seems.
Well - whats that phrase "The unexamined life is not worth living" or summat to that effect? Life is a series of experiments - thats my thought for the day. Some of the experiments work, some maybe not. But its always worth trying - as theres a goodly percentage that do.
Know that feeling re "is it worth it" - I tried cleavers the other day myself and thought "Okay - a possibility - but a load of faff for very little result" (oh well - if I ever suffer from dropsy I can think again! - heh! Does dropsy still exist?)0 -
Thank goodnes for that! Was REALLY worried! Just back from RFL (did it in 1 hr 19) and we were debating possible neg side effects of forraging! Mum things a course is a great idea so may investigate as appeals to the cheap (sorry frugal!) side of both of us!! Can guarantee its expensive though
Mum making pancakes and we're having merangue with strawbs & cream for pud and that veggie curry that I made with some prawns & coconut milk added, indian rice & poppadams for tea! Non nom a Weezl would say!
Sorry you didnt feel the knotweed was worth it Weezlmaybe one to put down to experience..?!! Have to say I did wonder when I saw the pile of sticks
. At least you can say you had a try!! Dont forget to forrage some rhubarb from the plot...sooo much easier!

I'll race ya!
the quest to save money here in the weezl house has taken on an epic debate.
Those of a delicate disposition look away now...
:oHypothetically speaking, is it better to feed one's husband on more expensive foods, and just clean your toilet once a week, or to spend three months giving him lentils, chick peas, rice and oats, and then be confronted with a foot long poo of 3 ins diameter, which will not flush away after 2 full hot kettles of water poured from a great height (usually works well) and 8 whole flushes!!!! Just hypothetically speaking now....
Gentler more civilised readers look back now!
We've decided the knotweed is both gooseberry-esque and rhubarb esque, and I've made a giant SC full of rice pudding flavoured with knotweed puree, which will be frozen in ramekins to allow lots more puddings for the last month of my mad challenge.
Need to update sig now, but it's looking even scarier!!! £5 left for a month:eek::eek:
oh naughty ceridwen mentioning clotted cream..... drools on keyboard,
Love to all and hope your sunday's going well.

I think I speak for all when I say "poor Mr Weezl". Give him a big hug from me! Do you think when he said his vows that it included wife having madcap ideas which he was required to not only enthuse about but also suffer for?!! Bless him! Lucky he's such a lovely man my girl!! As for the poo would adding ome prune help "loosen" things u a bit so that they were less congealed!! On a serious note is he drinking enough water? Sounds quite uncomfortable actually! Definately worthy of half a roll of loo papers! Hope you clear it soon...guess thats one way of keeping guests at bay!! SUppose you could chop it in half perhaps?!! eeewwww!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0
