umm...being honest I'm not sure we did go off topic. The thread is about Weezl's journey & saving money, which I think most of us have done along the way, although not as brilliantly as Weezl has.

I think its a great shame that you are effectively removing the party because it was a celebration for all of us who contribute (& a fair few lurkers came out to play too) to recognise the immense effort, planning & sacrifice that both Mr & Mrs Weezl have made in the last few months so in my book isnt off topic at all but hey what do I know!

If you feel it necessary to move then feel free but please post a linky so that those of us who want to revel in the fun a bit longer can do so....

  • hey p & p

i have to agree with ISOM, i think the party stayed on topic and was a good "send off" for it, as weezl's already said that a new thread will be started for her next challenge. apart from anything the party is at the end of the thread and weezl has a fab link system set up at the begining of the thread to help people find the recipes.

I'm in agreement here. For those of us who have been involved all the way along, whether posting or lurking, the party was a bit of fun which was the culmination of the project. The thread would be really odd without the ending - how can you cut out what is an integral part?

I've thoroughly enjoyed this thread. I have a reputation among family and friends for making £1 go a really long way. BUT - I am a total spendthrift in comparison to Weezl. I've been taking notes all the way along and trying things out on my husband. His tolerance levels for inexpensive meals are improving greatly. :D We are saving really hard for a house and this thread is helping us put more away.

I'm looking forward to the next thread & challenge. :j
  • I agree with ISOM as well, i think it should remain here. Also there is a link right at the beginning for recipes.Anyone wanting to read through the thread will see that it is all in the spirit of achievement and recognise it as such.

However it is Weezl's thread, so surely it is her perogative, as to whether it should be moved.

    My tuppence worth..every little helps:D

    Dear penelope penguin and pink-winged,

Hello!:D Erk, what a tough call to make! It seems some folk would like it left where it is, and I know you are looking out for the interests of those who will follow after, perhaps many moons away, who are desperate to save dosh healthily. It would be a shame if they 'switched off' cos of our revelry on Saturday.

I guess we all know that feeling when we wonder to another board with a specific question about tax or summat, and then there's a conversation in the middle about who saw the football a year ago!

I know that Martin has asked you guys to guide these boards and to follow certain principles as you do this. I want this thread with all my heart to stay guided by the original purpose of the board. So please do what you feel is right.:A

All I wanted to ask was that the party could be kept in some way, your idea of the Arms sounds fine. I've some friends and family who I'd like to show my achievements to, and it would be good to point them somewhere.:D

    Love Weezl x

In haste as need to go to work...I honestly dont think our Martin The Marvellous would begrudge our wee party...I really dont and maybe if its a huge dilemma pepys should ask him? I'd lay me money (if I had any!!) on the fact that he wouldnt mind at all...in fact I'm a bit surprised he didnt pop in to say hi but the he's probably busy playing scrabble and planning the wedding and maybe (like other lurkers) is a bit shy?.....Have a good day all - see ya tonight but may lurk at w***!
