:hello: :hello: :hello: :hello: :hello: :hello: :hello: HIi everyone

Belated congratulations to Taplady --- hope you had a great day.

Valjk -- good luck to your husband. The occupational therapy department have to step in in cases of disabilities at work I beleive and find a solution. Hearing aids or something which allows your husband to keep working. Maybe a change of role. Hope everything works out OK for you both.

Smokey -- take it a moment at a time and grief is so tiring get plenty of empty time to just reflect and rest. I found my head was like as if a ping pong ball was just going round and around and it wouldnt stop.

BM about to go on and banana bread to be made.

Clouds are here in Spain today -- hope we have got yours to give you all a break

Gentle thoughts to all who need them and congtaulations to all those celebrating.
Try and do a good deed every day.

    Good morning all:D

((((((smoky))))), you are doing wonderfully, and that includes the times when you can barely function. I have not suffered a loss as great as yours, but I do know a little of the physical pain of grief. That you start and finish each day is more than enough at the moment, and for some time to come.:kisses3:

Babysitting the DGSs this morning, and as it is dry and bright ( hope I haven't put a hex on it again!) we'll take them to the river to feed the ducks, swans, coots etc. Mind you, it seems a crime to give my delicious HM bread from my BM to the birds.;) Will have to hold on tight to DGS2 as last time we went, he held onto his bread and almost went in the river with it:rotfl:

Then it will be home to catch up on some HW. Now there's less to do it's even easier not to do it, and it will soon get behind. Just read that back and it sounds gobbledygook, but I know what i mean:rolleyes:

    Hope you have good days,

    CM x

edited to say Valjk, hope something gets sorted for your DH. Have they checked what's causing the hearing loss, or could he carry on with a hearing aid?

    Good morning everyone,

Hugs Pen-Pin, I had a night much the same as you. I have run out of prescription painkillers and had approximately three hours sleep, I'm shattered today.

Smoky, hugs to you too. Do you have a jumper or something of Eric's that you could give to ds to cuddle as well as the photo. It's strange, but somehow burying your face in someones snuggly jumper and having a good sniff of "their" smell can be comforting when you're missing them so much.

Martyn hugs to you also. It will pass and you will feel normal again one day. In the meantime, just try and get through it as best you can.

Hester, I really hope the little one is OK. Some health visitors are so useless, mine told me to buy dvds to entertain my baby so I never went back. I swapped to a non local clinic, where the health visitors were so lovely and it was like asking your mum for help IYKWIM.

Like the mad woman that I am, I have changed all my clocks already. I am tired, and ds was awake at 5.30 so it seemed like a good idea to have an hour less of him today rather than an hours less sleep tonight.

I think I will be doing some knitting today, as I don't feel up to much in the way of housework.

    Take care all of you

lunch will be a snack of some kind. tonight we will have the pork chops I forgot to marinade yesterday. ended up having burgers for quickness as son got offered three hours work at short notice. He is working as a youth worker for council, and has a zero hours contract. mostly he helps run a youth club on a friday evening, but other events here and there. last night was some kind of band night

    Morning all
Still no sign of my phone & it goes straight to voicemail if I ring it. I have a horrible feeling that DSS may have picked it up & taken it back to Ireland, he's a lovely lad but as dozy as a dozen daisys. I'll have another good look in a while & then phone & report it missing.
The main problem is that i use my phone as an alarm clock & hubby was working today so we had to be up at 5:30. I slept very little worrying that we'd oversleep, but then I probably wouldn't have slept much worrying about DGD.
Still it isn't 10am yet & I've already got 2 loads of washing on the line & been to Tesco's, I hate shopping with a passion, but it was ok at 6:30 this morning as the shop was nearly empty.
I treated myself to a beautiful pale blue candle to light for Eric. Hugs to Smokey & children.
Sorry to hear you are having a bad day PP, I'm sure your DD will soon recover from her strop.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning everyone.
Smokey just read your post from last night you take care, you are amazing and you will get to grips with it all when the time is right, at the minute you must handle this your way and that is the right way. Hugs to you and the kids ((()))

Well we have clear blue skys here and it is lovely for a change, i have 2 loads of washing on the line and the uniforms are in the washer.
Today i plan to clean and have a mega tidy up of the whole house, as we are out all day with football tommorow, ds1 has his semi final cup match, this is the 4th time he has made it to the semi`s but has always got knocked out at this stage so fingers crossed this is the year he will make the final ( i will have to go through it all again next weekend as ds1 is in his semi final of the cup also!!)

Looking forward to monday as its payday, i have £5 in my purse till then and need petrol to get us to footy, so today and tommorow will be very creative on the food front!!! But as always we will manage throught to payday!!

Right off to make a start

  • Quick Q anyone whos around :)

If i make Toad in the Hole, do i need a roasting tin thing to cook it in? Would a normal oven-proof dish not get hot enough for the yorkshire to cook or does it not matter?

Not making it tonight or anything but it was just a random though that popped into my head as i was reading peoples meal plans :)

    Thanks

    Hi Hun!

I always use a roasting tin as I find the oven dishes dont get as hot as I would like. It can be done though, but I find the batter doesnt rise as much.

    Good Luck!

    morning all,

first of all hugs to smokey, there is not a right way for you to be feeling or coping at the moment, just the fact that you are getting up is a good thing, huge hugs to you and the children xx

Martyn, hugs to you too, get youself out for a walk with those mad dogs xx

Pen pin and cranky hope you both feel better xx

Taplady happy anniversary for yesterday xx

Kitty I always do mine in a roasting dish, I think it gets hotter, they do them cheap in Mr T. I always put a chopped onion in with my sausages, gives them a nice flavour

Hugs to anyone else in need I have a mind like a sieve today :D

Its beautiful here, bright and sunny with a brisk wind, got OH work clothes on a boil wash, need to DD's school shirts, and will get both on the line today.

Having the salmon with pasta and hollandaise today, which we should have had yesterday, DD is off to heathrow with her dad, as her half brother is off to new zealand today for 2 years, she will miss him soooo much.

OH and I are off walking today, will pack a picnic and make a day of it, really need some excercise, feel a bit wooly in my head, :D

    Have good days all xx
