    Hi kippers,

Glad you had a good afternoon. I've added your thread to today's daily where everyone chats about what they've been up to during the day.

Hi everyone; just catching up. It's been a busy day and I've not had much time to post. Hope everyone is feeling well and that no-one has got soaked in the awful rain.

Will catch up with you all later or tomorrow.

    Hiya! :hello:

Smoky I can't begin to imagine just what you are going through, but you are doing so well. Your kids are so lucky to have a mum like you.

Catowen :hello: Glad you're back, but missing your post today.;)

dlb You've done brilliantly for your friend, helping her to move into her house and getting all of that stuff for her, well done you!
Hello to all of the first time posters. :hello:

Big hugs to all those feeling low or ill. :grouphug:

We finally finished decorating our front room today and we've de-cluttered it and moved the furniture around and it looks so much better. We're going to take up the carpet and lay a wooden floor over the May Day weekend and we're hoping our 2 new sofas from DFS will come sometime in May...can't wait. :j

Yesterday we took the girls to see The Chinese State Circus which was the best Circus I've ever seen and would highly recommend it. Just make sure you use the half price admission tickets if it comes to your town. The acts were so good and the highlight was 4 guys on motorbikes driving around the inside of a big caged sphere thing...never seen anything like it in my life! :D

The house is still a mess and I started to hoover, clean and dust today but I'll do the rest tomorrow, along with stripping all the beds and washing towels...oh yes and the pile of ironing that is turning into a model of Mt Everest! :rotfl:

DD1 is at a birthday sleepover with around 10 friends tonight so I think she'll be tired and ratty tomorrow! DD2 is enjoying her 'quality' time with DH and I. Tonight's tea was sweet and sour chicken and veg with noodles and Nan bread. One of my quick 20minute meals that always goes down well.
Right I'm off to mop the kitchen and morning room floor while DH reads a story to DD2.
    Nighty nighty!:D

    Hi agin

Still not had a chance to fully catch up just did a speed read of the last few posts. Quasar - I have had a slow cooker for about 10 years or so and although I don't use it to full potential I couldn't be without. I think if you are doing stews etc there is no problem about how long you cook for. Just helps the flavour and juices etc.

MeanMarie - when do you head off to Aussieland?

Welcome to new folk - as I explained earlier I have been rather caught up with house improvements and now have all three DGSs here for a long weekend. This is a wonderful friendly and supportive community.

Boys have been brilliant today. Baby in bed before 7.00 and older boys had a special treat and got to stay up to 8.30 tonight (late for them). However they seem to have been getting up a bit too early in the mornings so maybe with the clock change tonight we might get them to at least 7.00 am tomorrow instead of 6.00 am. However, I always think that if they have slept for 11 hours you can't complain. I think DGS1 is an early riser because when he was a baby DD and SIL had to get up early to get organised for work and for nursery.

Weather not looking too good tomorrow for here (rain I think) so will need to think of somewhere interesting indoors I can take the boys.

Been rubbing at excess grout on the tiles in kitchen again tonight. It will take a while to get them shining but just about there. Will post a link to Photobucket once I have sorted out the before and still to take after pictures.

Take care and enjoy the rest on this evening.

    Love

  • Unfortunately i had some bad news today so my plans havent turned out too well - found out my sister has been taken to hospital at 4.30am.

Lives a distance away so planning on taking the trip over tommorow for visiting hours.

She has always looked out for me and i care for her so much - she's always there to point me in the right direction.

My little girl has made her a lovely little card tonight
  • Has anyone seen or heard from Mumzyof2 today:confused: ....knowing me, I have probably missed her post:rolleyes: ....hope your ok hun. Don't worry if youve had a ciggy, we wont judge you...much:D

Have got the lamb out the freezer for the stew tomorrow and will use up swede, onion, carrots, tin of beans and peas in there too....will also add dumplings and maybe do some mash too as we have friends coming and need to pad it out. They have a fussy 5 year old, so hopefully she will eat it....she can have toast otherwise:p

Just watching casualty with DD as we recorded it. We had a lovely HM pizza for dinner which both DD and OH did and ice-cream and fruit for pudding.
