    Not a good day....
Forgot my wedding anniversary yet again:o - this is a yearly occurence - OH always remembers and to be fair I did remember last year but was sure it was the 19th and gave him his card then:o but this year nothing registered with me at all!...for any date in April!
Had to leave work and get DD from nursery as she is unwell again:cry:
    Washing got soaked on line.
But had lovely chicken fried rice for dinner from the big bag of chicken I found at the bottom of the freezer:j
Really going to try harder this month and have cheaper but nutritious meals more often. My month starts on 1st May - bring it on:p

Can someone please let me know if this writing is showing in black - think I may have accidently altered my zoomtext

Yes I noticed that on Asda.com I buy the sp cheese but they said it was being replaced? with a more expensive one. I went to the local store (from which home delivery is done) and on the shelf were boxes of the stuff. When I asked if it was being discontinued the girl looked at me and said 'of course not!!'
The same goes for other sp things I too reckon they are trying to get people to order online more expensive groceries!

I think that's really sneaky - this will also be retaliation for loosing out on impulse buys when people shop online

    It's all black, weemissy :)

As you can see, I've gone over by even more  Went to Tesco for a box of eggs, and not only did I manage to buy large ones when I meant to get medium, but I realised I had no veg (hence purchase of carrots and peas) and almost no porridge oats (hence purchase of these) and I found a big box of Kelloggs Crunchy Nut Corn Flakes for £1.40 due to being slightly squished.

  • Thats not failure!!!
Id call it success and I think many others would too. Don't be too hard on yourself.

I think none of you who do the grocery challenge and overspend are failures. :T Being new to this I am amazed at the amount some of you manage to get by on. Even if I overspend (May being my first month) it has made me realise how much I am spending. I am sure many of you have trimmed down you budgets since you first started so don't be hard on yourselves. We all overspend occassionally and many of you say you now have a freezer stocked up for use the next month. At least you are not burying your heads in the sand and letting your spending run away with you. I think just reading the posts for the last 6 weeks has made me aware and if I go to buy something I now think to myself 'Do I really need this?' And alot of the time it is No I don't!!
Just keep going you may have reached the lowest monthly spend you can manage, and that is an achievement in itself (esp with price rises!!):T So accept that and think how much you have saved since you first started.:j

By the way weemissy your writing is in black:rotfl:
Thanks to MSE savings we got to go to Disneyworld Florida.

It sounds like it should taste nice, maybe there`s just not enough of the stronger flavourings, i`d try a bit of garlic and maybe some sage.

I have a pint of single cream which I bought for 25p on its sell by date on Sunday, and is now on its use by date.

Any ideas? I would do a carbonara but don't have anything baconlike in the house. I have done a search on the forum but haven't been inspired. I only bought it cos there were loads of recipes I thought I could do, before realising they were all for double cream :o

Oh, by the way... in the name of using stuff up... I've just used up the end of a bottle of tonic water and the tail end of a lemon ;):D I might have had to open a new bottle of something else though :D
