Going to come in very underbudget this month, which is good, but i did cheat a little by going to a friends for 10 days so no food buys then. The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter0 -

April grocery challenge I am declaring £221.73
I know I should have set a budget of £220, but I was hoping to beat that. I blame the price increases that appear every time I hit the shops, and my compulsion to stock up while things are cheap(ish).
My latest moan is on the 20p rise on T's passata from 29p to 49p!! So far the plain tomato is still 29p so I am stocking up whenever I am in there.
Has anyone noticed that many cheap items especially value things are not on tesco.com for delivery, but are plentiful on the shelves? The only one I can think of at the mo is Tesco value sardines in tomato sauce only 17p, but not available on tesco.com. I shop at the store that my delivery would come from so it's not that my store does not stock them. Also value sultanas, we have them in store, but not online...
Does anyone have any more examples of this? Maybe it is a ploy to counteract the mindset of people who buy online to save money on impulse buys.
Anyhoo, off to start reading the many pages of this thread I've to catch up on. MrsM, please count me in for May, my budget will be £220.
MrsB.

Yes I noticed that on Asda.com I buy the sp cheese but they said it was being replaced? with a more expensive one. I went to the local store (from which home delivery is done) and on the shelf were boxes of the stuff. When I asked if it was being discontinued the girl looked at me and said 'of course not!!'
The same goes for other sp things I too reckon they are trying to get people to order online more expensive groceries! Thanks to MSE savings we got to go to Disneyworld Florida.
