Well, I'm thoroughly embarrassed to admit that I blew it this month. We had a really generous budget too - £350! I think it was the fact that I'm used to shopping twice a week, every week and I moved to monthly plus top-ups. I massively overestimated what I needed and overstocked the freezers - three of them, all jam-packed!
Also, the monthly meal plan went out of the window around day ten...not really sure why, though.
I've already started May's... I'm not reducing it yet since I couldn't stick to it last month. I did the online Asda shop last night and it came in about £75 cheaper than last month as I've still got stuff left over to use. Also, we've decided to have smaller meals a couple of times a week - jacket potatoes, beans on toast... that sort of thing. Plus, I'm going to get all my milk from Aldi as it seems to be much cheaper than milk from Asda.
Sorry for waffling...↑ Things I wouldn't say to your face

Morning!
I have just added up the rest of this months receipts and its gone up to £327:eek: so I think I will have to revise my target from £290 to £300 for May, a fair bit of the extra was stuff for the freezer so will help out next month.
Good luck everyone:T , my challenge starts on the 1st of May.Do what you love :happyhear0 -
For a £ sign if not available on your keyboard use Alt 0163.
No joy I'm afraid. We used to have it and then OH gave the computer to someone to "fix" another problem and we found the signs had changed or disappeared.WL 11 st 5lb as at 050109. 160209 11st 2lb

disaster - just realised my car tax is due!
I have a box where I put £3.10 a week for my car tax, otherwise it would never be paid! I have boxes for various things which I should be putting money in each week (about 9 of them) but over the past couple of months it's become impossible, so the car tax one is the only one I can keep up with atm.0 -

If you try to do a £ sign what happens? does it do somethng else instead?
I was wondering if the keyboard layout had changed to the wrong language as it defaults to American sometimes.

Just a thought ,have you checked that MrT deliver there-what is the postcode?

Thanks for mentioning this. I've put the postcode in and entered it as a seperate delivery address (different to my home address obviously) and it accepted it. I'm pretty confident it's ok as when I was looking for things like eggs and milk it brought up Welsh items which I'l never seen in my local English delivery address. So fingers crossed I'll be getting my delivery. I think it'll be delivered from either the Conwy or Portmadog store, it's about 10 miles from each I think.

Started May last night. Went to Asda and got 8 kipper fillets (uncooked ones) for 15p :rotfl:
I just got to decide what to do with them now.0 -

Just had a quick shufty on Julian Graves site & the herbs & spices are half price...or they were at 8:30 this morning!
Thanks for the recipe Superspam, & for proving I'm not quite as senile as first suspected
I'm having a go at eating from the freezer this month---last night was chicken pies & oven chips that were bought in for my weekend away, when the offspring were left to fend for themselves. Needless to say, various fast food restaurants recorded a healthy profit those five days:eek: Tonight it's mediterranian lamb from MrT's £2-a-job bbq, with veggie rice.
Hope you find some smiles today, whatever you're doing:DFull time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

Assuming you`re using XP go to start/settings/control panel and look for the date & time option, under the time zone tab at the top check that the time is set to GMT.
Still in control panel go to the regional options settings and change everything to United Kingdom and apply it then ok, you will need to reboot but hopefully that should change it.
