Ive been totting mine up without a specific goal in mind so now I have the total I can decide what to set my budget at for May. Just need to set the start date and end date. Shall I do another week for this challenge or shall I count May as 5 weeks and end it on 31st May? Thats what Im "thinking" of.
I'm a full monther - 1st til last of every monthI'm under budget this month but have the urge to go and stock up with pasta and tomatoes!
Edited in - YES, I am going to go do a £10 shop ONLY for the following items:
Pasta
Spaghetti
Rice
Tinned tomatoes
Washing up liquid
Will update as soon as I have been out to supermarket and then declare myself finished for this month! I promise!I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Mrs M, I'm declaring Aprils GC at £94.71, but still want a £120 target for May :j :j :j"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Sorry I have been out of circulation for the past few days-just very busy at work. Anyway have updated my signature and I am declaring at £277.31 for April - which is under budget by £23.69! I am really pleased with myself - but I was away for five days on hols and haven't had many visitors.
I am not cutting back for May as we have DD1 visiting on two weekends and DD2 and her BF at the end of the month so I am actually raising my budget to £400 for May Mrs M.
I know it's cheating a bit but I would rather set a higher target and still come under as I will save the difference in my ISA assuming that there is a difference that is!
Well done to everyone who made it this month and better luck in May to the rest. You've all done really well. Thanks for the encouragement and all the yummy recipes!

PS forgot to say that my month will run from 1st-29th May0 -
My GC will be starting on the 1st May
Have failed this month ....will update tomorrow with total
At least now I have an idea of how much I spend
Does not make pleasant reading
Will have to pay more attention to all your ideas on here for saving here and there:heartpulsOnce a Flylady, always a Flylady:heartpuls0 -
Hello everyone, i'd like to join the May grocery challenge if i may. We are a family of 5, i think i'll try and aim for £200 (hopefully that is a realistic figure).

Do you buy free range eggs in supermarket? - found much cheaper to buy from sides of road and then can usually see hens for yourself therefore more guarantees as free range? now get from same person when needed at £1 for a dozen
She also does bantams at 90p/doz, duck £1.20/doz and goose 50p/ea.
I have also built up a good rapport with the lady so that if she isn't home I can go in to the shed and help myself. My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
So we’re empty nesters.
Daughter married with 3 boys (12, 9 & 5).
My mother always served up leftovers we never knew what the original meal was. - Tracey Ulman0 -
My local farm shop does 30 medium free range eggs for £3.90, i also get a sack of spuds at the same place for £6.00.

I had a keyboard that the @ and " symbols were reversed. so had to use the opposite keys for what I wanted, and the £ wouldn't work either hence why i used the alt version.
