    Hi everyone!!!

Payday tomorrow and we'd like to declare our April GC total at £56.99!!!

... My dream of seeing a Rainbow Billed Toucan in the Costa Rican Rainforest seems less of a dream each month.

    INSPIRATIONAL! :T :T :T

This is especially for you (courtesy of http://www.free-picture-graphic.org.uk/ where I found it :D ) and I wish you every success with your quest to save and make that trip. Well done!

OH the shame! :o:o £39.83 over budget!   I was doing really well until today, when I totally lost the plot because we are having unexpected guests for the weekend and I had to rush into Mr T's for some last minute shopping.

Mind you, I did also buy a few storecupboard things that should actually be out of next month's money. PLUS I have done loads of batch cooking this month and have 2 absolutely stuffed freezers, so most of next month's main meals are covered. So I ain't going to beat myself up too much.

We are off on hollies for a week next Friday, but I will be buying our food from our normal GC budget, so we will have to see how we do. I will keep the budget the same as this month and hope for the best.

I'm not going anywhere near the shops in the next few days so, that's me declaring at £264.83 for April. Mrs M, can you please put me down for £225 again for May? thanks

  • Hi Mrs Mc and Fi27-Thanks for your kind words...

Hi bails-yes I do eat with the children, but I love that, we have great little chats... I loved your 'travelling is like air to me'... Thats so true for us too..

    Hi Nymedia

OB came running out of the kitchen when he heard my scream of delight at seeing that beautiful picture.. probably the whole street wondered what was going on...Thank you so much....

You've given us an idea- as a reward for April we are going to take a small copy of the toucan and find a pic of a Howler Monkey (for OB) and stick them on our fridge. If we do well next month we'll add 2 more of something else we may see... SFT xxx

Haven't posted for a few days and I wasn't supposed to be doing a shop until today but instead I did 2 little shops on wed and thurs and no big shop today. I'm trying to hold off the big shop until next week, I've menu planned until mid next week, I'm just finding it a bit strange not doing a biggish shop.

Anyway, spent £5.52 in Aldi and £4 in Somerfield on nothing in particular, just milk, veg, olive oil, salad, cheese and reduced naan.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend :)

Put me down for £150 next month! It's a short month as we're away until the 7th plus I'm starting my new job on 8th, so I should have more time to cook/plan/conquer! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Hi everyone,

WellI have now had 2 NSDs in a row:j which is practicaly unheard of in this household. Mind you I am now on day 3 of my migraine - I can finally feel it fading away so perhaps I'll be able to join a few thoughts together now and get a few things done. There is gardening planned for the weekend - hope we have some decent weather.

Also I really have to get some bread going so that I can get some stored in the freezer for OH and DS when I go away on 5th May. There will be plenty of other food for them but no doubt I'll come home to find that the budget has been damaged. Still it will be a shiny new budget next week - I start on 1st - so there will be the rest of the month to catch up.
