Declaring £238.08 for April :j and will aim for £300 for May as it will be a five week month. Would love to come in closer to £250.
Not as happy as I would like to be because 5 days of April were covered by the holiday budget  . Must try harder.
Been doing BM rolls and will do some more today. Need to try to do more treats for the kids to save there such as hobnobs, muffins etc.:j0 -
morning all,
well ended up spending to buy sthg to eat but have decided that comes from the 'fix the car' budget instead of the food budget as we saved £240  by using a different garage to fix OH's car
have my quinoa salad with me today, tasted it last night and was yummy so am looking forward to my lunch. :cheesy:
i cooked the quinoa as per instructions, added a pinch of turmeric to the water whilst cooking.
chopped up onion and chorizo and fried
chopped up peppers, carrots and cucumber and then chucked it all in a box.
i'll mix it up when it gets time to eat,Nonny mouse and Proud!!

Good morning!
MrsM can I declare my total April spend as £77.19 please? My month doesn't officially end until next Wednesday but I don't need anything else and don't find it difficult to stay out of the shops (I hate them)! Good thing that I bought whiskas on offer in Asda on Wednesday as mrT didn't have the multipacks last night.
May is a 5-week month for me and I'm going to stick with £20/wk, so next month's challenge is £100 please.
Well done to ALL challengers, whether you're within budget or not :T
Am going to try making pasta this weekend ...Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain ...0 -
Morning all, LOL at the jealousy over the trolley of reduced veg and excitement at doing the grocery shop, I'm with you on both!:rotfl: I'm itching to break into May's budget but as it's not even in the account yet will have to wait
If I can get some time to myself tomorrow, I'm going to sit down and menu plan for May - I'd like to see how low I can get it using up what we have but I think we'll need quite a few things. I need to have a really varied diet to stop me getting bored and therefore blowing loads on impulse buys at the corner shop!
SFT, having lunch at work must really help, I'm assuming you have to eat with the kids to be entitled to that? Can really relate to your and your OH's excitement too - travelling is like air to me
Ooh, Madmittens, pasta making is on my list of things to try, let me know how it goes please. The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Ok I am declaring at £147.73 for this month and thankfully it is payday today!
Meal planning went a bit to pot this month as first week we were on holiday and then I just couldn't get back into the swing of it.Still trying to use up random bits in freezer but am finding it hard as lately we have all been eating at different times due to work patterns so can't really plan meals for everyone to eat together-very frustrating!
Will be joining May Challenge-eek just seen it's a five week month and two bank holidays-am entertaining for one of those at least so will set budget at £250.00 and really try to focus!!
See you all on the May thread-ps thanks for the Quinoa recipes-I too have a packet that wasn't getting used!0 -

Right I'm declaring at I]gulp[/I £480.64:eek::eek::eek:
Not doing too well am I? Mind you, I now probably have enough in to feed a small army, so you could send your DH's entire barracks over Mrs Mc:rotfl::rotfl:
Big job for me to do - MAKE A MEAL PLAN:D If I do that then I shouldn't have to buy much at all for the next month. Famous last words:rotfl:. I fell off the plan-making wagon a while ago and really must climb back aboard - makes life so much easier for a start.
I'm also aiming for (no laughing at the back there!) £350 for May. Wish me luck. I'm going to need it :rotfl:
I'll see you all over on the May GC thread.
