Have been lurking for a while. Made some changes this month, switched to frozen veg and was amazed at the difference.Much cheaper and no wastage. Also bought enough mince for 8 dinners for £5 and portioned and froze it. Felt pretty pleased with myself!I can't eat already frozen meat but can buy fresh and freeze it  I'm sure theres loads of ways I could save more. Gonna try HM bread, not the mixes. And HM pizza. OH isn't too interested in saving and a bit of a food snob so can't go as far as oats in mince but will try and cut down as much as I can eg ast night used 1/2 amount of chicken normally would and twice the veg.
Working 6 days a week at the mo and really want to give up the saturday. That would cost me £150 a month nearly so thats what I'm tryin to save.
    Sorry got a bit wordy.
Can you put me down for £200 for May please, thats for 2 adults. Prob extravagant to some of you OSers but it's our first month! That £50 less than we normally spend.Hopefully do it and bring it down again!

Mrs Mc - I looooove oatcakes. I'm going to give these a go. I tried making some years ago but they weren't very successful - they fell apart, but I think that was because I didn't let them cool. I always had the same problem with flapjacks until I learned to leave them until they were cold.

Another NSD for me yesterday and i plan on having another one today:j

Yesterday afternoon i put a bottle of long life milk in my wilco food flask and microwaved it, added some greek yogurt and put the lid on, this morning i opened the flask and now have a big tub of gorgeous tasting greek yog YUM!
I though it would need straining or something but it`s great just as it is. This will save me a fortune and i`ve also read that if i strain it through muslin in the fridge i can make soft cheese and add things like chives to it so i`m well impressed - just need to find somewhere now that sells muslin squares so that i can have a go.

How do you get a muslim to stay in the fridge ?? Bit cold isn't it?
