  • Had couple of NSD this week (have been working extra so no time to go shopping).
Went to Mr T's on Sunday and got a till spit MOC for £4 off £20 spend :D .
Never usually get these but they are obviously trying to keep business as a new ASDA has just opened less than a mile away. Let's hope I get a few more!

My mum has 1 of those 4 wheel jobbies.... ..and even has those bungey luggage straps so she can fasten extra carriers on top :rotfl:

Well now there's a thought. I could have done with something like that when I was losing my pumpkin off the top last autumn. Thats a really clever idea because I have mine loaded up to the rafters. :p

I personally think its pretty cool to be 'trolleying' these days. Even Jamie Oliver sported a cute tiger skin type one for one of his photo shoots. :D Leaves you 'hands free' to rummage when searching out other bargains.
Mines even got a padlock on it.... could have been my mum added that, she's the distrusting type.

Trying to resist spending till Friday even tho I'm nearly out of fresh veg. I've red cabbage and carrots left so they will just have to do. I'll use some frozen corn on the cob to bulk it out. ;)

I'm being a lazy mare today. I got up late (8.30) and I'm still in my jammys. I have hoovered though. Banging headache so going back to bed soon.
Spent £5.22 yesterday on tobacco and 2 fingers of fudge for the kids as they've been so good helping me with the digging in the front garden.
Had a look on ebay and their wally trolleys are as much as £70- OMG!
Do need to get one though- I'm devestated that the kids outgrew pushchairs. Now I have to carry stuff.
Prawn stir fried rice for tea tonight with shredded cabbage and other stuff.
    BM is on.

Hope all you ladies discussing Wally Trolleys are familiar with the lengthy thread on the subject. I won't clog up the GC thread by going on about how much I love mine ;) but I do :D I do now wish I had bought a stairclimbing one (the sort with 2 three-wheel gadgets where the 2 normal wheels should be) as it would make life much easier getting it up to my flat. However I'm sure I'll wreck my existing one at some point, so I'm waiting until then!

I think I have resigned myself to the fact that there is no way I am going to finish this week on budget, as I am addicted to lime cordial and forgot to buy any on Monday, so am now down to about 1 drink's worth in the bottom of the bottle. I am also short of milk, still need ginger for that recipe, and don't have any golden syrup (if I did I could make Twink's hobnobs and thus use up the oats in the cupboard!) The ginger and syrup could wait until next week really, but the other two items will have to be bought sooner.

The thing is, it would be fine if I was just thinking of it as a monthly budget, but I can't get myself out of the mentality of budgeting weekly! Everything else is monthly, but groceries and "pocket money" I've always done weekly - dating back to the days when I was on weekly pay.

Welcome Sophie. Buying for 2 households shouldn't cause too much of an issue if you are careful, basically as you're still using the same amount of items just in 2 seperate places. Taking the breadmaker with you might be an issue but you could always make it to take with you, I always freeze hm bread. Do you make all of your DSs foods yourself?

    Hi lil_me.

Tha main probelem with our caravan is lack of freezer space. We only have a larder fridge. I do make all ds's food at home, but haven't got anywhere to store it at the caravan, so he tends to have packets / jars there - which I hate.

We're off down there this afternoon, as soon as the breadmaker has finished, but as we're going for a week, I'll have to buy bread at some stage.

Just got back from Makro, they have triple velvet T rolls, 18 pack on buy one get one free. Works out very cheap, so I now have enough to last until at least June.

    Enjoy the sunshine everyone.

Thanks to all the lovely people on here I have managed to cut my hours down to 2 days a week, allowing me to spend more time with my gorgeous Children. :j

  • Again, DD has gone to play school , Mummy went shopping  .

Went to Aldi , next door to play school, and spent £16 on loads of F&V, got 3 reduced steak & kidney puddings for 49p each (don't know if this was a good price or not, just got lured by the reduced sticker :o ), 17p noodles for OH when he's got the munchies and some other bits and bobs. I'm meeting M&D in Morrisons tomorrow and won't need very much at all now.

Went to Tesco for few things I can only get there (and I forgot on Tues) last night and to see if there were any reduced items but not much there. Went home spending only £6.88 and no whoopsies :(, another sad day.

My freezer is starting to look a bit sad with the lack of reduced meat. I've menu planned for next week, and if I can't find any reduced stuff by then I'm gonna have to find loads of recipes for chicken as I have 5 meals worth. Will have a butchers at the recipe thread me thinks.

Just popped in to update my sig. Managed 7 NSDs (apart from buying the soapnuts online on Saturday - which doesn't count as I didn't go in a shop!) and today spent just £18-64 on some bits of food from Sainsbury's and holiday stuff. I have £128-55 to last to the end of the month (which is two more 'big shops' for me). We are going away tomorrow for a short holiday which is why the food bill was so low this week. Eating out of the freezer/leftovers today and tomorrow so didn't need much apart from some milk and fruit.

I don't expect I will be able to catch up with the posts when I get back as there will be too many - but good luck everyone.
