I just spent £1.40 on Bitter Lemon, had to do it, almost a litre of Gin and no Lemon. Had a lovely "Wild crayfish and rocket" sandwich today for lunch + coffee, cost a fiver. This can't be counted however as was M.S. and getting reimbursed for this , plus a fiver for the privilege:T:jDabbler in all things moneysaving.Master of none:o

:hello: Evening All,
Hope everyone is well and your GC is going as planned.
Went to tesco yesterday afternoon with OH half and spent just over £40.
Bought plenty of fresh fruit and veg.
Also stocked up on dry goods that should see us through for the next few months.

Hi all
Went to MrT and spent £60 today. Stocked up on yoghurts, mousses, ice cream and jelly so that DS and DD hopefully eat these after their main course and stop feeling hungry around 8pm and raid the cupboards for crisps, biscuits, crackers or cakes!
I've got enough food for meals for the next 7 days. Although I write a menu plan I often alter it depending on what the family is doing in the evenings and how much preparation time we have.
Banked another £50 of £2 coins which is going towards the holiday fund.:j
Everyone in the house is a bit stressy today as DS (14) threw a tantrum about revision for his SATS! Anyone else going through this at the moment? Roll on May when it's all over!
Have a good evening

Humph. I've gone over again... and realised that I haven't remembered I was out of butter, so that'll be another thing to buy tomorrow...I just spent £1.40 on Bitter Lemon, had to do it, almost a litre of Gin and no Lemon. ...and great minds think alike - I was just thinking I'm out of tonic water
Given that I'm doing a similar "frugality challenge" on my weekly spending money this month, I'm pleased to say that I'm under budget on that, so am still on budget for grocery & spends combined. I might think about adding an extra line to my sig, actually. I bought a bacon sarnie this morning and a Diet Coke this afternoon, £1.70 altogether. I've still got £17 in my purse (from the spending money budget - had £20 on Monday) and this should easily last the weekend, with about £11 expenditure expected on various things on Saturday, and £1.39 for a takeaway coffee on Sunday morning (latte from McDonalds). I reckon that leaves me with ample surplus for my grocery overspend, and I can treat myself to another bacon sarnie tomorrow morningOperation Get in Shape

Well I normally do the challenge every year-starting in April. Its been despair lately though as food prices have risen so much! Well Im keeping the receipts and writing it all down in my book but Im undecided on the £s to set it at for weekly food. Everything I buy is either bogoff or reduced-I can only do so much! One thing I have noticed though, and that is, it is cheaper to have my shopping delivered. buying online restricts me as to what I buy-I buy what I need, although of course I do miss a lot of questionable(not really needed)bargains.
I never pay for delivery as I only do this if the voucher codes are available.
However, considering the cost of fuel it may well be worth it even more so now.Next month I will hopefully set a figure on the food bill. By saying "food" I mean just that-not household, pets, clothes or anything nonfood. Any ideas? 4 adults plus a 14 yr old girl.Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -
I agree with that having shopping delivered is cheaper.I also use codes so have never paid for delivery.I buy cereal ect based on the offers.Kids know this now and are happy just to see what they get.Asda is very good as their free delivery is worked out before the discount so I can order £50 of food then get free delivery, then find the mutibuy discounts kick in and I can have food delivered free usually costing me around £35-£40
I go to the store once every couple of months just to have my fix and stick a few unneccessary items in the trolleylost my way but now I'm back ! roll on 2013

Hi all,
Well I went to Sainsburys today and actually managed to get some good whoopsies (if you'll excuse the expression;) lol)
I usually go to Tesco but have been going to Mr S for the Cravendale offer and usually have a mooch about the reduced sections whilst I'm there, just in case:D . I must have gone at the right time today - around 5.30pm on way home from work, when usually it's much later. Got half kilo of Trout half price £2.96, Brisket half price £2.28, organic broccoli half price 69p and (I know I should've resisted but they're my faves) 2x pk of 2 fresh cream apple turnovers at 60p per pack, for after tea. I spent £15.37 in total and am quite pleased with that.
Not so good was DS2's reaction to the lentils in his bolognaise - Disgusting was his comment. I had apparently completely ruined one of his favourite meals and it was the end of the world (he's 9), so I'm a bad mum:( I cheered him up with Victoria sponge cake tho and he forgave me;) Only trouble is I have loads left overThink I'm gonna try sneaking it into tortilla wraps and hopefully he won't notice as much!
