So I think you need to try and leave the debts with CCCS and then try to deal with the others yourself (not normally recommended but then this situation is not normal) or tell CCCS and have to deal with them all.
I haven't run up further credit since I first arranged my DMP. I actually left my two credit cards off and my stupid provident loan. I have to add these today. None of these have changed, only I cannot keep up the payments. I stupidly thought when my DMP was set up (end of last year) that I could manage these, as to me, they were priority debts.
My biggest worry, is Provident. They call on a monday and I have to pay £23. Now do I pay that today, or say £10 and explain about the DMP. The agent is not what you would call a nice man, and to be honest, he scares me.life should be about wanting what you have, not having what you want...0 -
Right I see, sorry if I misunderstood.
I'm not sure how they will see this, because I thought you had to declare all debts at the time. How did you manage to keep space in the financial statement to pay these other debts?
Give them a ring and see what happens but it will mean a lot of letter writing from them because they will have to change all pro-rata payments.
Regarding Provident, I think you should pay £10 today and then say you are struggling for money at the moment and are seeking help.
When a 3rd party DMP company contact Provident Head Office the debt is called back from the local office and sent to Head Office who then 2 months later send the debt to CKEdrupt Solictors who collect the payments.
Hopefully by next Monday the debt will have been called back and he won't call. He might still call and say that you should have told him before and he would of reduced your payments - they say this all the time as it is their commission which they are losing.

I managed to scrape by making payments on my cards and provident by reducing the shopping budget and spending less on petrol etc.. I know CCCS will probably take a dim view on all of this, but I was really doing what I thought was right, although I see now just how incredibly stupid and blinkered I have been, constantly robbing Peter to pay Paul so to speak, and on and on it goes... until today.
Also, since talking to my husband and rethinking our budget, changing insurances etc.. I have managed to comfortably find an extra £60 for the CCCS. SO although they might not be too pleased I can offer extra to cover the others.life should be about wanting what you have, not having what you want...0 -
OK Thanks for explaining.
Good luck - let us know how you get on

mrs lady, I am in your area and had a provident loan, would you drop me the name of the guy who is your agent by private message?? sounds like it could be the same chap, i'm not one to be easily intimidated at all but he gave me the heebies whenever he turned up.
There is a branch of provident in norwich, you can call them and tell them that you wish to make payments to the branch only and not through your home collector due to the fact that he intimidates you.
Also have a look at the norfolk credit union, they often offer freedom loans to get people away from doorstep lenders. speak to the CAB about this. they guys at the wymondham branch are lovely. if you'd like me to get any information for you give me a shout and i can pop down there, also if you are local and need any support anytime you're more than welcome for a cup of tea anytime.
Loads of hugs

Thanks although I have promised husband to never borrow again, and with our new financial re-jigging I hope we don't have too. Have added all my debts and in the cold light of day they aren't so bad. I had estimated £10k and works out its just under £5k so am thinking positive.life should be about wanting what you have, not having what you want...0 -
Lots of luck today0

Hey Mrs Lady, just catching up on your thread, i feel like i've arrived when all the drama has passed!!
Well done you on sorting things out, and OH's reaction was probably about right really. It could have been a lot worse.
I think he does have to realise that part of the reason you were not able to get out of your "personal debt" was because you were supporting his decision to study.... he may not have racked any of the debt up but he certainly contributed to the problem.
It absolutely sucks that you cannot get a part time job without affecting his bursary... if you feel like you need to do something for your own worth, ask him mum to babysit and do some voluntary work meantime.
Or consider AQA, mystery shopping, ebaying and other up your income options, these could supplement your income a little without taking you over any thresholds for affecting WFtax etc. But look into these things properly with regard to paying income tax etc if you are succesful.... Also doing these up your income type things becomes a worthwhile hobby/obsession in time!!!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0
