Today I tell my husband...

I am also curious - what did he do before he started the nursing training? He must have realised that him being a full-time student would put a dent in the finances, even if he was getting a bursary. To be honest, I would think it would be expected. I agree that sitting down and discussing future plans and possible expected debt that may be incurred during the entire time he is training would be a good thing to do. So that you have realistic expectations and are both on the same page. The amount that you consider a reasonable amount of debt for that time period might be vastly different than the he considers reasonable. just a quickie as I know you have been asking.... hubby is a student nurse so no, there won't be a huge paying job at the other end, if only... and he only started in September and thats when everything went loopy with the pennies. (Haven't run up £10k of debt since then, but alot contributes to him getting only £923 per month and me £540 per month.
I think he's being ok so far, but I still feel another row on the horizon...0 -
Hello to all of you wonderful people who have kept me going for the last few days. Husband and I are talking about money sensibly and we have agreed on the areas that we need to cut back on. Tomorrow morning I have my CCCS review and I have got all my paperwork ready and am feeling confident about that too. Will post something about the outcome.
I totally understand why Husband ran off to his mum, he needed someone to talk too and I now regret moaning about him running off. I have apologised to him for calling him a 'mummys boy'.

Goodluck with tomorrow! So pleased to hear you and your husband are talking things out calmly! It's always a shock to the system when you or another realises the situation they're in!

Hi Mrslady
Can you confirm from your financial statement which debts are being dealt with by CCCS and which aren't. By looking at the figures it looks like you are paying everyone the correct amount.
Now I don't want to put a dampner on anything but if you ring CCCS tomorrow and say that you have run up further debt they will not allow you on their DMP - they are very strict about this.
So I think you need to try and leave the debts with CCCS and then try to deal with the others yourself (not normally recommended but then this situation is not normal) or tell CCCS and have to deal with them all.
Let me know the answer to my question above and I will try to help further.
