    OMG OMG OMG!!!

I have been hooked on this thread for a long time and finally plucked up the courage to try at my local Tesco. I searched on the meat aisle but none of the beef, pork was mispriced. They all had yellow stickers with the correct price. Bum I thought! However I found the chicken breasts and after checking a million times, yes they were overpriced by about 30 odd pence. Put 2 in the trolley.

I looked at the cheese and the mild cheddar was overpriced by 1p. Put 2 in the trolley. Used £10 worth of vouchers and headed over to CS. Boy was I pooping myself!!! The cs woman went off to have a look at the shelf and was gone aaaaaaages. She said the old label had been put there so refunded me for chicken and cheese - £15.96 Wayhaay!

She was ok about it but I did have to write my name and postcode down. She took the barcodes of all 4 items so wonder if they will now correct the mistake?

What an adrenaline rush, I wanted to go round the corner and Whoop!!!
My heart was going and I shook, stupid hey?! But sure going to do it again.

Oh and the packs of smoked bacon - 250g were wrong plus the smoked bacon joints, but didnt want to go too far my first time.

Mmmmm just consumed a doorstep wedge of cheese on fresh bread!!!!!
  • WELL DONE YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It will get easier and will feel as if you work for Te$co and are helping them by pointing out their mistakes.

Yipee I also plucked up the courage today to search for wrongly priced items. I found the 2kg Smoked /unsmoked Gammon £8.49 on pkt, £7.98 on shelf, Tesco smoked bacon 500g (16 slices) £2.89pkt, £2.49 shelf and Organic Wensleydale £2.32pkt, £2.17 shelf. Picked up two of each, felt like a criminal at CS, my heart was going ten to the dozen. I thought I was going to have to fight my corner since the woman looked like an old dragon but no problem, in fact she was very polite !
But! the shelf prices were brought back to the desk and put in a cupboard behind the desk so everyone after me wouldn't have been able to compare the prices - can they do that?
The cashier wouldn't take any of my coupons unless I'd bought the item and when I queried this at CS (she was being nice after all) she said they would only accept 1 coupon in total if I hadn't bought the item.
Look after the pennies and the £££s will look after themselves

  • Went to get some camera films tonight with my sister as I had seen the other day that you could get a 5 pack of tesco's 24 exposure 400 speed (I think!) for £2.50 on offer, they went through the till at normal price of £5 so I paid then went 'oh I don't think it's right' a supervisor was called who agreed it was wrong and said it was an out of date ticket, she said I could take another pack if I wanted too but I asked if I could have the refund and she was ever so pleasant and just said of course, no trouble at all, even though it was a genuine refund request I still felt I was doing something wrong, but my sister was made up!!!
  • OK. Late session tonight at Tesco..........real purchasing intended and a "casual" perusal of the aisles for Freeviews, Tommee Tippees etc.

No luck on the big items but I put 2 Ribs of beef (bone-in) worth about a tenner each into my trolley (1p/kg overpriced £5.67 vs £5.68) and 3 organic double gloucester's (1p/kg overpriced)...........

But...............I bottled out when I saw the same cs as my last visit behind the counter (£9 worth of free lamb that time).

....oh for a bit of courage.

did manage to offload £5 worth of vouchers though.

    Current Mortgage November 2011 - £228,313
    2011 £25,410 OP target - £6,359.00 to go..
    Regular Savings Account (8% APR) - [STRIKE]£2400[/STRIKE] £2700
  • that's the problem I have - whenever I go into my tesco the same cs lady is always there - i've only been there once but she made a little fuss about it and tried to refund the difference.

I haven't been able to find anything recently so I'm guessing they're starting to replace shelf labels efficiently or other customers are getting there before me :p ah well, as long as we're screwing tesco I'm happy :T
