I managed to get some free towels on sunday.:)
The cashier didn't bother to check if i had different size towels and put 2x hand and 2x bath towels through as 4x bath towel.
I ended up with a 14.40 refund.
Today i bought my son some grey combat school trousers which were marked up at 4 quid but went through as 1.50(size 8-9 years barcode 5000462924819).0 -
thanks laylauk i'll look for the sign behind customer services.
Picket up large Gammon roast - overcharged. manager a bit grumpy and ripped off the shelf label after accusing me of wreading it wrongly. Very tasty got my 9 quid back.
Pee'd me off so much I'm gonna go every night for a different item - hee hee!0 -
Bought a Whole Salmon that was on a reduced special offer from the fish counter and had it cut into fillets for me. It went through the checkout at full price as they didn't stick the reduced sticker over the barcode - so I had it for free (even tastier now) - plus my cat got to eat the head and tail so he thought it was purrfect!!
At the weekend a similar thing happened with some fish counter reduced special offer fish (Salmon and Coley) so my mom got her Salmon free and I had free Coley. Well if they don't notice the reduced labels what can you do but let them know at the CS desk?3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Frogling wrote:Those marks are called Hock Burns, and usually occur because broiler chickens grow very quickly and are kept in such appallingly cramped conditions that they have to rest on wet, dirty litter, and the ammonia burns them.
I only buy free-range chickens now, as having seen first-hand how broilers are raised, I don't want to do anything to support the industry.
Ditto, same here - I won't buy chicken from any supermarket - I am now very fuzzy over chicken as I've also seen this first-hand at the rearing farms and broiler houses - also went as part of my job to visit a chicken processing centre - never again!0 -
I introduced my husband to Tesco refund policy a couple of weeks ago when I got one of the gammon joints priced £8.48 for free - shelf price was £7.98. (We then had a laugh when we tried it in another store and it rang up at £7.98 - oh well, you can't win them all.)
Anyway, on a day off last week, hubby popped into Tesco for some roast beef and came away with a free copy of The Da Vinci Code, due to pricing error. He has already read the book, and when I asked what he was going to do with it he said he would donate it to a charity shop. I know it's only a small donation, but as tesco say - every little helps!0 -
