I know this is a money saving website and some people are bound to disagree, but I always buy RSPCA Freedom Food, because then I know the animal has been properly cared for and raised in kind conditions. Freedom Food costs slightly more, but to me its worth it to know that the animal was not ill-treated or made to suffer.

I like the 'freedom food', it does taste better. As consumers, we can do our bit to show Tesco et al. that we don't want chicken with bruises, broken wings, burnt knees by returning them to the store or simply not buying them.
A large number of quality related returns will probably be picked up somewhere upstairs and flagged for the buyers or QA managers attention. Has anyone else noticed these marks on the corn-fed chickens or was it just me being fussy?
Other freebies today...ont 'tut', one sigh, one theatrical rolling of the eyeballs, several dirty looks...0 -
Tesco currently have packs of 2 corn on the cob, supposedly reduced from £1.99 to 99p. I was charged the full price on these on my visit today.
The irony is that this was an item I had actually been sent to get, not one of the items I bought to get overcharged on. It seems you can't fail!0 -
Dont know if this is the right place for this but yesterday @ Tesco Rochdale I got a Tescos own Energy drink (Like lucazade energy orange) for 39p. It was a new product and I wanted to try it. Opened it on the way to the car, took a swig and it was rancid.
Turns out it was TWO MONTHS out of date!
Straight back to CS and they gave me a refund & £10! Cheers Tesco!Working Full Time but just about make ends meet.

This may be the reason they dropped the price by 50p.
Those marks are called Hock Burns, and usually occur because broiler chickens grow very quickly and are kept in such appallingly cramped conditions that they have to rest on wet, dirty litter, and the ammonia burns them.
I only buy free-range chickens now, as having seen first-hand how broilers are raised, I don't want to do anything to support the industry.0 -
I did this today for the 1st time in Prescott today. I purchased some cheese which i wanted and a bacon joint. Only 1 of each i went to customer services and was made to feel like a criminal. The lady questioned the fact that the bacon joint stated £1.55lb yet on the joint it said £1.56 and the cheese was £1.70lb and on the wrapper it said £1.86.
I did pick the biggest piece of cheest and largest bacon joint. But it was just the way that she looked at me.
As thought something was wrong with me.
She went away all funny and came back funny.
Maybe it was just because i had 2 items. But i didn't like it.
Maybe hubby will try it next time.0 -
She was just going to get the refund from her own purse . LOL........well thats the way some of them make you feel!0
