Having recently discovered that my bank account is being debited without my agreement, I have contacted Shoppersdiscount who have agreed to refund the payments. Watch this space. Incidentally, this resulted from a transaction with RyanAir.0

Thanks for the above advice...14 months ago hubby bought a camera online, hasn't bought anything since and as he is trying to pay off his balance on his Credit Card so hasn't paid any attension to his statement...until this morning.
Used 0800 731 9935 and got through to someone after a couple of minutes, who advised that they would immediately refund 3 months and would have to email out a claim form for the rest.
No real hassle for the refund, but devious and completely unacceptable way of doing business.
Thank you again to everyone who posted here.
Winky xRight now I'm having amnesia and deja- vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before0 -
I too have just realised a £10 payment each month on my bank statement on further investigation discovered it was shopper discount and reward??? Checked the internet and immediately contacted them and asked for cancellation . Having since looked on this forum have been back in touch and will be receiving 3 months refund and also sent claim form for the other 6 months I had been paying. thanks for your help0

Hi
This scam is still continuing but perhaps in a different format:
I was almost caught after recently making a booking with Ryan Air.
After my confirmation of booking appeared, on the same page was the offer to save £10 in future Ryan Air flights if I click on the icon-which I did.
A second page appears where-no-it's not £10 I save - but £15!
Now, at this point, they request your name and a credit card-which they say is for your rolling £10 per month membership of the so-called 'shoppers discounts and rewards club'.
What they are effectively doing is making it even more difficult for you to get your money refunded-as if you inadvertently complete the information giving them your credit card details they can quite rightfully say that you were given all the information before completing the instructions to debit-so you now end up battling both your credit card company and this scammers club.
It's absolutely outrageous!
It really is a broad daylight scam-being assisted by Ryan Air!
Goodness knows how much they are making out of this scam before unfortunate passengers realise the mistake they have made.
There should be a way to fine Ryan Air and refund all victims of this blatant scam!

i was also scammed after ordering from my freemans catologue i received message saying £15 off your next order, i clicked and went straight to this shopper discount site i followed through thinking i was putting details in to freemans, never got any voucher yet, few weeks later found £10 had gone out my bank account, phoned bank who said its been taken out by shopper discount and advised me to contact them, which i did complaining that i have been conned into sighning up to their site without realising, they cancelled my direct debit and said they would refund me,i am still waiting refund after 5 days phoned them they said it takes 10 working days i will be contacting them again until i get my money back, i wonder how many other people have been conned into this its disgraceful some poor old folk could be paying this without even realising.0

I can see a lot of people have been scammed from this company...
Recently, I had a 'link' to the in a recent Pizza Hut purchase email confirmation.
I signed up because they gave me a £15 voucher for use any time and £10 a month.
I used the £15 cashback and two £10 cashbacks (one for Sep, end of month and beginning of Oct)... got the cheques after about 1 week of e-mailing them the details...
Then I canceled. Already cashed the three cheques totaling £35... hopefully they won't scam me into paying anything, I canceled during the free trial...
I guess I'm one 'happy' customer. I would never use them for anything though, took the freebies and canceled0 -
Like others, it appears I signed up to their loyalty scheme after making a purchase via Ticketmaster. To be fair to Shopper Discounts and Rewards, they were very polite and helpful when I spoke to them and refunded me in full on request. Their method for pulling people into their scheme still stinks though. The experience has definitely made me more wary and my opinion of Ticketmaster has dropped.0

Thank you so much for the info. I know it was an old post but I found it very helpful
On checking my statement I discovered that they had charged me £10!! It was not something I had agreed to!
Following your instructions Icalled, got the recorded message, hung on until they offered a refund, cancelled my account too.
Thanks again.

Like many of you I too had two payments of £10 taken off my M & S Credit Card. I contacted M & S who said I should contact the Company. I sent off an e-mail to them explaining I wished a refund of £20 as I was recently widowed and couldn't afford to have unauthorised payments going out of my account every month. I have read a lot of negative posts about this Company so was prepared for a long slog before getting my 'membership' cancelled and my money refunded.
I've got to hand it to them! I got a reply almost by return saying my money would be refunded within 10 days and that I'd ticked a box whilst booking with Premier Inns to receive a £15 discount off my next booking. I probably did, but there was certainly no mention of signing up to Shopper Discount and Rewards.
To me, after reading all the posts, I feel this really smacks of sharp practice and - no other word for it - a scam! Surely the participating companies should group together and do something about it?0 -

Regarding the above noted new S D & R scam with Ryanair I would just like to point out that Fly Be are operating a near identical scam except that they say you will get £15 back on this flight if you join S D & R and make out you have 28 days to cancel with S D & R but will still get the £15 cashback even if you do cancel. FlyBe also send you a confirmation email for your flight to further pester you about having missed out on your free £15 cashback on your flight and saying surely you don't want to do that if you fail to sign up with S D & R on the FlyBe website at the point which you book the flight.
But then after you have handed over your credit card details to S D & R no email confirming membership with them or giving a membership number appears. This then both makes it impossible to claim the £15 cashback for flying with FlyBe from S D & R (as the cashback is contingent on sending S D & R a copy of your booking confirmation and your S D & R membership number) and makes it impossible to cancel in a straightforward way with S D & R.
However after I emailed the CEO and directors of FlyBe and copied the S D & R contact email address I did receive a cheque for from S D & R for £15 and have my membership cancelled before I was charged by them. S D & R clearly know their schemes won't stand up to scrutiny by the OFT or Trading Standards if they do not cancel for any customer who says they were joined up against their will so always cancel without complaint. As their whole product is clearly a scam with no real benefits (that are not available for free from TopCashBack) or operating costs on their side they clearly still make a fortune from all the people who don't manage to cancel and/or aren't aware they are entitled to a refund on their monthly payments up to the point at which they cancel.:mad:0
