It was Trainline that got me I didn't know I had signed up until I saw the £10 charge on my CC! I think they should be closed down they are already under investigation in the USA:mad::T0

They got my cc details from a flight my husband booked on ebookers - he used my cc, saw the £10 off next flight offer and thought I would be able to use it. Luckily I spotted the subscription fee a couple of days ago, figured out what had hppenned - was quite easy to cancel and get my tenner back.
Agree, it is a scam and the company should be barred.0 -
Like many others got bitten, with option for £10 moneyback offer after buying flights, then 1 month later got a £10 charge against my credit card used to purchase the airline tickets. Rang number quoted elsewhere 08082341539 and got automated option which first gave cancellation of future membership then additional option to cancel & request repayment of initial fee £10 paid. Now waiting for the promised confirmation e-mails for both cancellation & repayment.
How I got caught - having bought tickets then got a link offering £10 moneyback, but this turned out to be for any further tickets bought in the following month. But foolishly (now) I followed the registration steps & appear to have agreed to a monthly subscription after 30 days free trial.
Charge appeared on my creditcard balance showing as Shoppersdiscount.co.uk.
Fingers crossed & hope this helps others.0 -

It clearly stated it was a 30 day trial and would charge £10 a month thereafter, it was also very clear that it was a seperate company form 'thetrainline.com'.
I think anyone who ends up paying the £10 and complains needs to be accompanied by an adult when using the internet...0 -
There is an artical about this scam in last Sundays mail on sunday. its also online but as i am a new user i cant post links0

If you go to the mailonsunday website and put in the search box "Online discounts club" there is a very good artical and they want you to email them if you have been "caught out" by this company0

I have just been "had" by booking through TrainLine. I think it is a scam to offer "savings" and then to charge £10 per month. The e-mails from them were diverted to my spam folder, so I never knew the terms and conditions.
They have replied stating that it is clearly stated (!) but they will refund my £20 - I shall believe it when I see it.
I have also complained to Trainline.com but have had no response from them, as yet0 -
I got "caught" when booking a flight through Monarch. I did receive a full refund after I followed the advice on here (thanks). I also wrote to Monarch but never received a reply.0

I was interested in reading the Sunday Mail article, but I don't think the article was very well researched. Many of us on this forum, including myself, did not actually enter their credit details on the Shopper Discounts site - they were forwarded on by the company we had just done business with, presumably for financial reward.
Maybe the trainline connection is more "honest" as if you input your credit card details you should realise that you are making a payment. My experience was via allposters.com and although I only made one payment and that was returned to me I am still very angry about the loose behaviour of allposters with my confidential credit information. Despite a nice product I will never be able to do business with them again - I hope they gained enough commision from Shopper Discounts to make up the loss.
Surely the ease of getting the money back must scream that this is just on the edge of legality. They don't want to cause too much trouble and just prey on people who don't check their cc / bank statements. Weak articles like the one in the Mail on Sunday just make any readers think - "more fool them" and let them off the hook. Surely there is something we can do to close this mob down.0
