Morning all, I'm doing well posting for two days running. I've been quite busy this morning for a change. DH is out so I get more done without him cluttering the place up.
I wanted to tell you about the fish I bought for dinner tonight, it's called Vietnamese River Cobbler and is very cheap at Tesco. I got two decent sized fillets for £2.60. My friend assures me that we will like it. Has anyone else tried it?
Smoky, I am still thinking about you, tomorrow will be very difficult but I know when my first husband died I found the support of friends and family to be extremely helpful. Make sure you accept any offers of help, some people find it easier to convey their feelings by doing practical things for you.
    Hugs to all in need.
    Have a nice day.

Mumzyof2 - please don't leave this thread, they are the nicest bunch of people going, just persevere. It has taken me all this time to get personal mentions so don't take is personaly. Just join in with the general chit chat, if you mention people, soon they will mention you.

mumzy dont feel like that. i dont get every post i make replied to personally but just join in where i can and i feel like im part of the thread just by doing that.
I certainly wouldnt say im in anyones 'circle' but i feel we all just rub along nicely togerther and offer friendship and support where and when its needed. obviously there are people on here who have been doing this thread a long time so they know more people on here (whether personally or just through this site) but it doesnt mean they are cliquey. ive always found this to be one of the more friendly areas of the MSE site

is there anything in particular you wanted help or advice with?

BTW, well done with quitting smoking-i hope you manage to persevere with it

  • I agree dont go mumzy, I know how you feel at times. I too have felt that way.. But hang on in there and you do get mentioned. You have to realise as i did that this thread has been going along time and people are well established friends :)

I am sure that no one is ignoring you... Just those who are ill etc often seem to have more of a mention because they stick in your mind.
I am guilty of reading the thread and then forgetting who i wanted to say what to and so on .... I put that down to my age ;)

  • Mumzyof2-I too am trying to quit smoking and have managed to get to week 8, must confess though to having the odd one or 2 during that time but find if I ony have one every few days then I really do enjoy it. These first few days will be awful for you, I found myself climbing the walls but then once I was into week 2 and 3 it seemed to get a little easier.

I had a jar which I put £30 in every week, it was great to see the money I'm saving and infact that money has already paid for half of my holiday, so if I can acheive that in 8 weeks the treats I can have throughout the year will be amazing!

Keep positive Hun and if you feel you need a ciggie just draw on air, take a big drag as if you have a ciggie and that intake of oxygen gives you a quick fix

PM me if you need extra support, I am around all day and will be popping on here when i have my numerous coffee breaks from the de cluttering x

Good luck to anyone else craving the weed x

    By the way mumzy:
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

The reason that this line was included at the start of each daily thread was that people had started getting offended if they weren't one of the people others had mentioned specifically in their posts - which led to people feeling pressurised to mention everybody individually so as not to upset anybody :o So there was a general consensus that people should not be made to feel bad either for not being mentioned or for not mentioning people.

If you look at my Daily Thread posts, for example, you'll see that I will typically say specific things to three or four people (not the same three or four people every time ;)) because quite honestly with 50+ people posting on the thread every day, my posts sort of skim the "highlights".

Also if you look through a typical Daily Thread and see how often I've been replied to in person by other posters, you'll see it's not often at all :) And I've been here for ages, and I don't take it personally :)

So please don't you take it personally either - we don't want you to go :)

Im going to leave this thread, i just feel you all have your circle of friends and i have posted on occasions and no one replies to me. Sorry all

    Aww, don't leave mumzy.

Posters don't deliberately ignore anyone on here, and as others have said, this is one of the nicest places to be on mse.

I know it's not so great to be the 'new' one, but before long, you will be getting stuck into the chit chat, and reassuring new new ones that their contributions are appreciated.
