£200 on max holding. Just hope they don't mess up paying into my direct saver which I changed it to last month.

Nice one Galactica  Just an aside, your avatar reminds me of a recent headline making ITV  person.

    £50k holding - £0
    £20k holding - £0
    £15k holding - £75

Another month where we’re trading off losing 20% to interest by putting it in a regular account, against hoping to get closer to the average return.

Been in PBs for a while as it seemed to make sense when interest rates were low, (sub 1%), and now when we get a win it seems like a lot compared to what we were getting when the rates were lower. However when you consider that £50k in a current 5% fixed account will get you a guaranteed £166 (20% tax payer), and given the odds of winning "the big one", I think putting the money into savings accounts is starting to seem a better bet.
I agree. I currently have £10,500 in PBs having built it up over three years. I've won a total of £200 and if my excel formula is correct, it's equivalent to a 1.32% interest rate. This was my last draw (at least until interest rates come down again), I'm going to stick it in a savings account and drip feed to a regular saver. Of course, I'll wonder what would have happened if I'd left the money in but what you don't know can't hurt you. 🤷‍♀️

    Thanks!

The avatar selection was purely coincidental - I just selected one at random from the new MSE collection:

    Nice win Galatica!

My run of luck continues with £200 on circa £47k and £175 for hubby on full holding.

I've now won £1325 since February which is nice.
Thank you! An early birthday present for me from Uncle Ernie  :)

CPI is currently at 1.2% on a monthly basis (for April 2023).
So if you won less than £600 this month on a full amount then you are actually losing money to inflation.
