Here's a puzzle for the experienced Premium Bonders on this thread...

I have a tiny holding of £31, almost all dating back to Xmas/birthday presents from relatives in the 1960s/1970s.   I have never won anything (surprise !).

However, this evening I received an email from NS&I to say, "We just wanted to let you know that we've received a bank transfer into your NS&I Premium Bonds.  We'll get in touch again soon to let you know your Bond numbers" - which was a surprise as I have not made a bank transfer into my Bonds !

The format of the email is 100% correct, from outgoing@nsani.com, everything else the same as what I have got when I have made my own bank transfers into my other accounts.  It is not spam.  No-one else has the details to make a bank transfer.

I am wondering, therefore, if I have actually had a win (no doubt small), and they have reinvested it ?  However, there is nothing in "prize history", and I have checked with my holder's number on the "prize checker", but nothing showing.

I notice that the account prize options are currently set as payment by warrant and sent by post, rather than reinvested or paid to a nominated account.  That was set up years ago and to be fair I haven't changed any of it (I probably should, once I work out what has happened).

Does this make sense ?  I guess when they give me the Bond numbers, as they promise the will, all will become clear.
    Thanks in advance

£100 on an old bond that keeps giving, nothing on new bonds.

Wow just wow 😲 £675 this month! and £300 last month! on FH. Please no one take this thread as an average, people so much more likely to post when win big. I know I just have!

There are plenty who post about poor winnings too, but that's not to say that they actually average out as such - anyone looking to understand the likely return should work on the basis of this being in the region of 2.6%, so roughly £1,300 annually on a full holding, i.e. £100 or £125 are average months for maximum holders.

What day do you think they will pay out winners this month 11th or 13th ?
2 day bank holidays at the start of a month must have been very beneficial for NS&I to keep the money for that long.

I think it will be the 12th. Isn't it the sixth working day of the month each time?
